I have the KSM44...I dont think they are the same...but I didnt buy a 27...but from seeing it used here and there it looks like a decent deal...My KSM 32 has a 3/4" capsule like my AT3035s...which are a decent deal too if you can score them...
Any field recorder would do a better job of picking up the music...and it could be put into a better position...you want it close because in my experience people talk during this stuff...anyhow you can buy an inexpensive tascam field recorder for about the same as a decent mic for that phone...
Im more of a video producer...in the KC area...I do live stuff and am lucky to get to shoot at the major venues...and I do things different so Im in demand a little bit...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGSGNLpWLoo
Im hoping to find out more about mastering the sound on the videos I shoot...Ive...
I second that...for vocals...for multitrack many instruments...KSM32...you can get many more tracks with a mic like the 32...but not as flattering for vocals as the AT4047 seems to be for everyone...
I read the SM7 was used because MJ wouldnt stop tapping his feet...the u47 Bruce Sweeden tried kept picking up what his feet were doing...so the SM7 was the solution...you can add the pearl jam singer Eddie Vedder for the SM7...
I have a pair of AT3035 mics...and they are terrific...but I dont know if the 2035 is just a replacement with the same stuff in it...or not...if it is...Id reccommend it...sonically much like my KSM32...
Sounds like a sync nightmare if you start taking live shots to go with the studio recording...best to get the guys together and play along to the tracks and shoot each of them doing this...sync it up...and edit it...
