The song "I'm Not There" by Bob Dylan is my all time favorite song, yet the production and sound quality are both horrible. It's one of those rare songs that would sound good no matter how badly it was recorded.

I agree that it could use more "width." Also, the drums lack some life and the mix as a whole seems to lack some dynamic range. I love the guitar in the beginning, though. Overall, pretty awesome mix. It could still use a little more work though.

I think experience is most important. Having nice gear is awesome, but it's up to the person using the gear to make the best out of it. You have to be willing to experiment with things and not limit yourself to your gear.

I was just looking at some tube amps and I'll probably just save up for some time and get something more worthwhile. My grandfather has an old Gibson "Falcon" tube amp from the 60's that I love to use, so I'll probably just play that for a while until I can afford something. Thanks for the advice.

Condenser microphones need phantom power, it's dynamic mics that don't use it. The PreSonus Audiobox won't work with an acoustic-electric guitar plugged directly in, it doesn't seem to be made for that. But you could always look into buying another mic to record the guitar (in my opinion, it...
