    Default session

Everytime I open or close a session, I'm asked if I want to save my default session. How can I get rid of that message?

    tracks out of sequence

I did something wrong and now my tracks are not correct in time with respect to one another. How can I align them up so they are on the correct beat assuming I have 2 tracks open in the multitrack window that need to be corrected. Thanks!

    Guitar ensemble panning

What's the best way to pan 3 guitar tracks? One is a bass line, one trebble, and one mid-range.

Question about Ernie Ball volume pedal

Wow, I feel kind of stupid not even knowing that switch was there. I flipped the switch and viola...works much better now. Thanks a bunch!

Question about Ernie Ball volume pedal

Not sure this is the right place to post this so move it if need-be. I have an Ernie Ball pedal that has a strange "problem." Anyone who owns one of these knows it has a huge range of motion. However with mine, there isn't much change in volume until you push it nearly to the top. It's kind...

    Disadvantages of Oktavas?

What exaclty were the "quality problems," with the Russian models? Were some DOA or did some not sound as good as others, and if so in what way? Thanks.

    Recording guitar

Interesting info about balanced cables. Just out of curiosity, would it make any noticable difference to use balanced cables from guitar to amp? Also, How can you tell if an XLR cable is balanced? thanks

A few quick questions about SP B1

Thanks for all your replies. Since I've seen such mixed opinions on this mic, I think I'll just get one of each (MXL 603 and B1.) I'll side by side them and report my findings.

A few quick questions about SP B1

I've decided on one of these as an all-purpose mic for acoustic, flute, and vocals (I'm currrently on a low budget.) I had the following questions some of you might be able to answer: 1. I noticed it comes with a "foam windscreen," is this the same as a pop filter? If not, what's its...

    Studio Projects C1 vs. MXL603

The link itself or the link to the pics in the article? The pics just come up a blank page for me. I'll check again when I get home.

    Easy question about file saving

Ah, both good ideas. That brings up another question. How does the file-naming convention work? As in, what would track2(1) mean?

    Easy question about file saving

Every time I open a session I end up with many takes and tracks, sometimes ending up with only one wav file that I want to save. But, when I go to Save it, it asks me to save tons of files. Is it saving the files I deleted? And, how can I make it just save the whole session w/o asking me to...

    Studio Projects C1 vs. MXL603

I don't know about the rest of you but, minutes turn into hours quickly when experimenting with recording. Room preparation, mic placement, getting the right sounds from your instrument, getting good takes, editing, blah, blah. Spending "several hours," sounds about right to me.

    Studio Projects C1 vs. MXL603

From what I've read from here and other places, the C1 is not a good choice for me. But, the SP B1 might be. I might want to use this mic for steel string and vocals later in addition to classical, so would the SP B1 be a better all-around mic than the 603? Thanks again...

    Studio Projects C1 vs. MXL603

Which of these would work better for classical guitar? Also, what's the difference between the C1 and B1?

    Cant hear my SM57

Getting a PA is a good option, though I can't afford one right now. Then, I'd still need a decent mic. I'm thinking all I need is one of those clip-on mics and a pre-amp and I'll be set (I'm assuming those too need pre-amps.) Not a good long term solution, but might do the trick for now. On...

    Cant hear my SM57

Thanks for your response scrubs. You're right- I was thinking of phantom power, not pre-amp. This will be for a small gig, say 50 people in a somewhat noisy envirnoment (restaurant.) The pickup is a good idea, but I really wanted to capture the tone of the guitar and from what I understand...
