I have a .mid file that I created with Finale. Is there a way to save it as an mp3 file? I've opened the file with AA 1.5, but when I save the session, it only saves it as a midi file.
I might try to contact him to see if he'll do that. Thoses DVDs were great. The guy that teaches really knows his stuff. There seems to be a few pop up on on eBay every week or so, but it looks like people are asking more now ($100ish.) Also, be aware some people are selling a similar...
One other solution that hasn't been mentioned, is instead of the preamp, get yourself a mixer. They (even the cheapies,) come with preamps and are fine for most home applications. Mixers are VERY useful and can be found for as little as $50.
I haven't tried the SP B1, but I'd recomend the Octava MK012 over the MXL603s for acoustic and overheads. They're a tad quieter, and a bit more detailed. Just my 2c though...
Well at the very least you're going to need a cable. Then you may also need an adapter depending on what you're plugging it into.
You might also want to post this in the Newbies forum.
$63 is a steal, congrats!
Edit: I've had my russian one for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I still have my Marshal MXL603s too and plan on posting another Pepsi Challenge, this time on steel string guitar. Hopefully I'll get around to it early next week.
I think his question is not so much how to mic the cabs but what to do with the tracks afterwards. I've actually wondered the same thing. Do you pan each hard L/R or blend them? Is there a standard method when using 2 mics?
First make sure you can get signals into the card. Use the Delta Control Panel's VUs and watch the levels as you play/sing or whatever. If that works, then the next thing is to choose the correct sound device in CEP. Just go to Settings, Devices (I think,) and choose your Delta board from the...
Setup is: elec and acoustic gtrs > pedals > UB802 > Audiophile 24/96.
I'm trying to figure out why my input signal as shown by the LEDs is always so low yet my signal on the soundcard is higher. The input signal on my mixer is always VERY low. It hangs around -20db or lower unless I crank...
I do, (and I've tried all the other settings too,) but this doesn't give you the ability to adjust input levels. I'm thinking it's as Bulls Hit said, you have to do it on the mixer.
This might be dumb question but....
How do you adust the analog INPUT levels on this card? I've played around with the Delta Control Panel but even if I mute everything in the Monitor Mixer, I still get signal comming in. Do you have to adjust the input levels before the signal gets to the...
Thanks for the reply. It's a Strat going into some pedals then into the board. It sounds okay, I was just worried about possible impedance mismatch issues. I guess if I had them I'd hear them, right?
My cheap UB802 mixer has some mono, 1/4" line inputs. Can I plug a guitar into them or do I still need a DI box? The manual seems to imply I don't but I've heard otherwise.
thanks
So then you're saying I should set the levels lower when recording so they don't clip when played back together? How is that better than just turning them down after they're recorded? Sorry these are such noobish questions.
Okay, I figured it that's what must be happening. Should I turn down the master volume, or the volume for each individual track?
Er, come to think of it, if they're both roughly the same volume to begin with I guess it wouldn't matter.
