You guys scare me, but I'm still going to let you rip this apart.

Thanks for all of the criticism. We are going for main street (marketable) pop punk rock. So if you don't like that type of music then obviously you won't like it. And that's totally cool. The ska part... well this is the only one of our songs that has it and its a lot of fun to play on stage...

I have a few bucks. Want to start over. Too much gear nowadays.

    1) We want to record a high quality demo for our punk rock band. That's why I don't want to skimp on the important things like converters. 2) Offset some of the cost by recording similar bands in the area. I have 4 bands that want to use me to record this summer. Those are our two main...

You guys scare me, but I'm still going to let you rip this apart.

Thanks. We will work on those things. I want to re-record after I get my upgraded equipment (see my post in newbie section). For some reason I didn't put the lyrics up on the website. I will do that soon. If you feel like checking out the website it is at www.what-exit.com and we have a few...

I have a few bucks. Want to start over. Too much gear nowadays.

OK. I had posted somethings in mics and in the computer recording forums but I am somewhat of a newbie. I already have a good amount of mics (Some are still on the way). I sold my C-port. I still have Nuendo because I really like it and software isn't the easiest thing to sell on ebay. I was...

You guys scare me, but I'm still going to let you rip this apart.

I've been wanting people to hear my band but I've always been scared of everyone bashing this. But I really like this song so I don't care anymore. PLEASE NOTE: I know this song is not recorded all that well. This is my first experience with this stuff. In fact it's actually not even...

Does anyone know where to find information on specifications for monster cables? I have looked all through that site and they don't state there specs anywhere. I am interested in: Resistance/foot capacitance/ft. For there series 1000 mics cables. I wonder why they don't put it on there site...

    Woohoo....

Well here is my history of recording. I started off with a Boss Br-8 Then I added a zip disk to my computer and started using a cheap version of cakewalk and importing the wave files from my BR-8 as waves. Then I liked computer recording so much that I upgrading my software big time to Sonar...

    Woohoo....

I just sold my C-port a few days ago after a year of great service. I think it is an excellent system and it worked great for me. You should have a good time with it.

Is RME 96/8 the way to go for me?

Havoc, Do you mean that I should get the Multiface over the Delta.... or 9652+ADI 8AE over the multiface?... that second option is pretty pricey... if its the same converters as the multiface, then I should go with that. Oh yeah... you can get nuendo cheaper by going on ebay (hit or miss) OR...

Is RME 96/8 the way to go for me?

OK.... I just saw that the AEB boards are not 96Khz. So that option is out.... After a TON of reading previous posts.... Its either the Delta 1010 or Multiface. I'm just not sure if the Multiface is worth the extra 400 bucks. Used deltas can be bought for as low as 350 or so. It looks...

Please help me upgrade some mics, vocals, kick, toms.

Thanks guys. The reason I wrote down punkish rock is because we are pretty diverse. We have one or two slow accoustic ballad type stuff as well as really heavy stuff. We have kind of green day thing going on I guess. I invite you to visit my ghetto ass website but I don't want you guys to...

Is RME 96/8 the way to go for me?

Thank you for the reply. REally quickly, How do the converters match up between the different RME's? Obviously the standalones will be better. I just want to keep cost reasonable for myself. Originally I was hoping to get away with the 96/8 and an 8 channel expansion board.. How do the...

Please help me upgrade some mics, vocals, kick, toms.

Interesting... thanks for the info... However, when I record vocals, I usually go through the DMP3 Pre-amp which I have to say is significantly better than Behringer's. I think the gain would be ok. But I should really get at least one fairly dedicated Vocal mic. After this upgrade I may try...

Please help me upgrade some mics, vocals, kick, toms.

That Red5 Stuff looks pretty cool. But now I have even more options. I am still confused. At least I think I have decided on getting the SP C1. Haven't read a bad thing about it so far. Although the B3 looks cool too but I don't think it is widely used for vocals.
