    HELP!!!! Yamaha Rock Touring Customs

Unfamiliar with that line. Have you tried drummerworld's equipment forum?

Check out this SX bass I found from Rondo music

Bummer. I, and some people I e-know, have done quite well with SX basses. I have a PJ that I just goosed with a Badass II and a set of Bartos, it is now a monster.

    Thoughts on Guitar Fetish P90s?

I have a couple in my most recent Xaviere. https://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh16/ermghoti/DSCN0568.jpg Unique sound from any of my other guitars, humbuckers, singles, active or passive, but not alienatingly so. Bright, barky, articulate, they take higher gain pretty well, even in the...

    I'm Building a Pedalboard

All that custom fabricating, and you couldn't be bothered to solder up some cut-to-fit connector cables? ;)

    Cheap, But Quality Double Pedal

I seem to remember the 402 being well-regarded among cheap pedals. Agreed: this is not an equipment problem, you need more/better practice.

    JCM900 Boost?

The effects loop is your friend here. I always used to cut my rythmm channel with an EQ pedal, and turn it off for solos. The advantage here was that by putting a little mid-cut on the pedal, I got a volume and mid boost for the solos. A smaller increase in volume, accompanied by a mid-boost...

    pedalboard snake DIY

The mic cables are balanced, and will eliminate any noise picked up along the cable run, by design. well, the cable won't, but balanced-input-equipped gear will. No such guarantee with instrument cable.

just got a new fretless bass ...sweet!

Awesomesauce. I picked up a couple of Fenders a few weeks ago, including a black MiM Standard Jazz Fretless. I, too appreciated the absence of speed bumps, but being an incurable fidget, I have opted to "Jaco" the fingerboard. The first try went OK, I kept going through to bare rosewood just at...

    bolt on to set neck

If you want to tighten up the neck pocket, you could just get a Glass Bedding kit from Brownell's.

    best delay pedals

Try a DE7, it might do the trick for cheap. The Carbon Copy is great, first thing that came to mind, and not surprised to see it mentioned. My other guitar player sold his AD9 to get one after I got mine. No comparison. Same price range, other contenders would be the DD7 and the Hardwire...

    Ibanez or Fender

I just bought a new MiM Jazz bass, and the pickups were pretty darn good. I'd be surprised if a current P had a turkey in it.

    Kick drum mic for versatility/reliability

For your purpose, I'd strongly vote "none of the above," and suggest you track down an ATM25. You don't want a pre-EQed mic.

+4dBu to -44 dBu - Can someone explain this.

With a heavily distorted electric guitar, -20dBFS is a workable signal.

Must not have had inlayed fretlines.

    Does anyone play mediums?

I keep reading that on the net, but I've also read Jeff Beck talking about Hendrix convincing him to go up to heavier strings, inferring that the 10's he was then playing were not as heavy as Jimi was thinking.

    Tube Questions

The Rubys are the power tubes (EL34), if they're bad, you have volume swells, mushy response, general badness. You'll need to bias when they're installed. The preamp picks seem reasonable.

    Does anyone play mediums?

I went all the way up to 13's, and settled on 11's for most guitars, and 10's on a couple that liked 'em better. Strings are cheap, give them a ride. If they sound better, man up and learn to play them. :D

    Pedal Selections: Chorus/Flange/delay?

The Ibanez DE-7 is excellent, and right in your price range. Probably the Danelectro pedals for the other flavors will be more than good enough for experimentation. Or did you mean $120 AUD for the lot? That would be difficult without used/blowouts, and at that, would limit you to, at most, two...

    strengthen cymbals/hihats

You'd be better off buying up cracked "real" cymbals and cutting them down in diameter.

    Tube Questions

That'd probably be fine. I'd still write dougstubes, he may have specific suggestions.
