    First 12-string (audio clip)

Looks nice, Anfontan. :) A lot of the Washburns I've tried sound good...others, not so good, but I guess it's like that with all guitars. I'd be interested in hearing it if you have any clips lying around. I'm putting the money that was left over towards a Martin 6-string. I wasn't concerned...

    First 12-string (audio clip)

Thanks, WhiteStrat. I took $700 with me to the guitar shop and played every 12-string in there. This one sounded the best to me and happened to be one of the least-expensive. I got the guitar and a hardshell case for a little over $300. It's a Washburn D10S/12.

    Instrumental...maybe?

If I ever need a backing track, I either try to find one first (like on www.guitarbt.com) or Google, or find the Guitar Pro tab that includes all the instruments...drums, bass, etc. Then I convert each track to MIDI and run it through Reason or EZDrummer then mix it in Reaper.

What do you think of Yamaha guitars and basses?

I don't remember ever playing a good-sounding Yamaha acoustic... But I own a (really cheap) Yamaha strat copy that sounds really really good even just hooked directly into the computer.

    New Melodyne (Check This Out!)

That's gotta be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on this forum...

    First 12-string (audio clip)

I got this the other day...what do you think? http://www.dannydotguitar.com/12_string.mp3 or http://12.192.82.135/~dannydot/12_string.mp3 I haven't gotten used to it yet so playing is pretty sloppy and some buzzing going on...and I have no idea how to record it yet.

    Recording "skipping" - Help Needed

Sounds like a punch-in or like part of it was cut-out, did you do any editing? What are the specs of your computer? Slower computers, or when there is a lot of other stuff running in the background can cause "lag spikes" which can cause skipping or pops/clicks...Poor interface drivers can also...

    New Melodyne (Check This Out!)

I think NL5 posted about this awhile ago...my opinion of it is pretty much the same... Amazing technology but I personally don't like the idea of it... One of the cool things though...is being able to use another WAV file (say, of a guitar chord) and using that as a sample/sound on a MIDI...

Recording Acoustic-How do I get Tony Rice like sound?

Even one 4" thick OC703 panel behind the mic(s) can make a difference if you are close miking... Here's a couple very quick samples I recorded of Mono vs Stereo and how (I think, anyway) a stereo recording gives a much more "natural" sound...where mono kind of sounds "boxy" or like the guitar...

    Accurately Capturing Distorted/Chunky Guitar

I've personally never recorded an amp that an SM57 couldn't capture faithfully...my opinion is that if it doesn't sound right with an SM57 in a good place then the problem is with the amp/guitar/playing...

Emailing A Song That's Been Bounced To Disk

Do a Google search for "cDex"...it's a free program that will let you convert to MP3... Once that is installed and running, go to Options -> Settings, set LAME as the MP3 encoder, and then set the Bitrate to 128KBPS, although I would recommend 192. 128KBPS is roughly 1MB per minute of audio...

Recording Acoustic-How do I get Tony Rice like sound?

The guitar and playing will most definitely have the biggest impact, then the room, then the gear, blah blah blah... If your guitar sounds similar then you should be able to get pretty close... What song do you want to 'sound like'? I've never listened to any Tony Rice before, but maybe I can...
