my son's amp was doing the same. i thought may be the speaker was cooked but it turned out to be a problem in the reverb circuit. the repair bill was less than 100 bucks.

i'd say it's the naturally fat sound of your LP. most of the ibanez guitars iv'e play sound a little on the bright side.

i like new strings (once stretched) on clean electric and acoustic, and a day or two of break-in on distorted electric.

hah. should be a 'piece of cake'. a de-soldering tool from radio shack will make removing the old one easier. if you have never soldered before, get someone to show you (or look it up on the net) and practice a bit. it's not hard but there is something to it. good luck.

it's probably just a bad solder joint or broken wires from hanging by the wire for a year. just take the jack back out, check it, and resolder if necessary. you'll want to check where the wires connect to your pots too. they could be close to breaking from all the movement from not having the...
