    Ugly Guitars

that has to be one of the most hideous things i've seen yet...it looks like an inbred les paul with an erection.

    MultiEffects pedal recommendation?

the tonelab is actually made of aluminum and steel...built like a tank...and it sits between my guitar and 100w tube stack. it's especially useful for getting good tone at low volumes in the living room and recording di but it still sounds excellent cranked. if this one died i'd buy another...

    MultiEffects pedal recommendation?

i've been happy with the ToneLab but you really should drag your guitar down to a music store and play through everything they have to find what suits your style most. that's how i settled on the tonelab. it was down to that or the boss gt-8. listening to samples on the net helps. i found...

My amp is dead, no sound.

my son's amp was doing the same. i thought may be the speaker was cooked but it turned out to be a problem in the reverb circuit. the repair bill was less than 100 bucks.

    Headphone Output

nice! cool jam room too btw. don't know what to tell you about no headphone output. that does bite. that's one of the things i really like about modelers and effects processors...the headphone output. i can grab up guitar, tonelab, and headphones and go out on the front porch and play to...

Anyone else not like the sound of completely new strings?

i'd say it's the naturally fat sound of your LP. most of the ibanez guitars iv'e play sound a little on the bright side.

Anyone else not like the sound of completely new strings?

i like new strings (once stretched) on clean electric and acoustic, and a day or two of break-in on distorted electric.

    Which wah?

hey, what's goin on bro? to the best of my knowledge, joe uses a standard cry baby. there are a shitload of signature models and special pedals but the standard crybaby should put you where you want to be. l8r

I'm not sure if this is the right place...

hah. should be a 'piece of cake'. a de-soldering tool from radio shack will make removing the old one easier. if you have never soldered before, get someone to show you (or look it up on the net) and practice a bit. it's not hard but there is something to it. good luck.

I'm not sure if this is the right place...

it's probably just a bad solder joint or broken wires from hanging by the wire for a year. just take the jack back out, check it, and resolder if necessary. you'll want to check where the wires connect to your pots too. they could be close to breaking from all the movement from not having the...

I greatly dislike floyd rose floating bridges

speaking of surface mount...what ever happened to the washburn wonderbar??? the idea of not losing wood for a trem always appealed to me. one of the guitarist in a band i was in put one on his ibanez destroyer and loved it. i played it and thought it was pretty damn sweet too.

Do i need mixer for computer recording???

really? bummer. i guess linux has spoiled me over the years. =] ardour has the capability of routing any input to any output. i guess i assumed all of them could do it. JACK is a beautiful thing.

Do i need mixer for computer recording???

you know, i've been looking at the delta 1010 and didn't even consider that. my recording software has a master channel for stereo out but that wouldn't do any good with the delta would it? i'm using a cheesy sb live card right now and haven't had to deal with that issue. i suppose two sound...

EQ settings on amps for recording?

oh, you got that right bro. a couple of months ago i finally bought a new amp after using my other one for 20 years. it took forever to dial in my tone on it. the tone stack just didn't react the same.

EQ settings on amps for recording?

yea, i've heard that before and it makes sense. it just doesn't suit my personal taste to have too much mid in my tone. dude didn't say what style of music he plays either so that would make a difference. my tone is a metal sound and too much mid just seems to muddy up the sound. The only...
