it's always been my understanding that you adjust poles to get a balance across all six strings and adjust pickup height to add or reduce overall gain from the pickup.
i'm not really qualified to give a critique on the mix, etc. especially given what i have to listen to it on. but i can tell you the the performance from both of you was excellent.
EL, you play a mean ax bro. and true...well, you know. ;)
atomic amps? never heard of them, but i'll certainly check'em out.
right now i run the tonelab thru the clean channel of a carvin V3 and it sounds pretty wicked. =] i just need a good mic to try to capture that sound.
i hear ya zaph. i have one too and i like it, but it NEVER sounds as good as it does when i plug it into an amp.
there are not many amps i can plug directly into and like the sound so i can't say much about that but i do use my tonelab with my tube and solid state amps. that sound i like very...
gotta go with rayc here. i record direct from a tonelab and the guitar sounds are ok but it doesn't sound half as good as it does coming out of my amp's speakers. a good mic is next on my wish list. that's a cheaper option than a tonelab or a pod too, especially if you already like your...
not at all. they'll know what to do. it's really a simple job...connect the wires of the new pickup where the old one was connected. polarity is the only catch but pickups come with wiring diagrams so if you have soldering skills you could do the job yourself.
enjoy the new pickup. =]
please explain. i've been using that expression for a long time and never ever considered it racist. if it really is racist i'd like to know about it and why.
i doubt very seriously that capnkid had any racist intentions.
yea, me too. i 've set intonation on guitars before and i've never had this problem. wierd.
will do. i'll be at work for a couple of more days but i'll try to report back by wednesday.
thanks for taking the time to explain the baseline adjustments of the saddles.
this is one of those...
i'm reading it now. this is good stuff.
muttley, i recently attempted to set the intonation of my guitar and it seemed no matter how far i moved the saddles either way, the pitch at the 12th fret didn't change. they're all a bit flat by about the same amount. i would have expected SOME change...
mondo ass kicking idea t-paul!
it looks like you have guitars pretty well covered but i play a little slide and a pretty awful fiddle that doesn't sound too bad in a mix. =]
shoot me a line if you need any of that.
