haha gay huh? well that part is filled with a guitar fill anyways, so you really wont hear it that much, i kinda like the effect it gives. any tips on how to liven them up?

i suppose i didnt specify, but we are now recording it for real, NOT live, meaning 1 instrument at a time. what i have up there is a rough sketch of the song idea that we recorded to remember the song more or less and we like the feel of the live recording so we want to try to recreate the idea...

lol Neither... while i was gettin ready to do some vocals i had my mouth touching the mic when i realized i was about to start and then when i started singing i got off the mic haha. so poor mic technique is the excuse for that. (And my athsma was killin me that particular evening) the vocals...

thanks KC, The melody will make the rest of it more relevant and less predictable, and i am no rock guy... more of an ambient kind of guy :D lol this was really written in a simplistic fashion to emphasize the vocals . the synth/mandolin part is actually my acoustic guitar being speed picked...

Definitely better so your on the right track. the kick sounds rather boxy. which you should be able to get rid of in the 250-450 hz range. and i'd still like to hear some nice deep thud. I also liked the electric guitar int he right ear rather than the left and i think its a bit TOO quiet...

A couple of things bother me with that reply and i would like you to think about it. #1... you should never "forget" to do something simply because you need to trust what you hear and you need to develop an ear for what needs to be done based on what you're hearing... not because there are set...

I hope you dont take this the wrong way, but i think this is a rare miss for you as far as mixing goes. the the guitar that leads you in doesnt cut enough. make that bitch cut like a chainsaw man, it'd be nice. also i think the highhat is too loud compared to the rest of the kit. I normally...

ok... well.. snare, i'd add a little more crack which you can find in the 2k-4k range and i'd add some more compression. the kick is almost non-existent to me... definitely needs to be more present. boost around 100-150 hz a decent amount and cut around 200-400 hz to tighten it up a bit. also...

i know it doesnt make the performance better lol, but it can make your voice and transitions sound smoother. and he's an incredible singer lol
