    Creating music Loops

I don't know if it's a question of changing his digital editing software - If I understand correctly, he just wants to chop a loop before he puts it in recycle. He'll be doing his composition in Reason. Recycle also allows you to fine tune your audio file. Most of the loops I've created...

Rhyming Doesn't Have to Make Sense

funny, I used to be really good at this when I was in high school. You could give me a word and I could write a clever verse about it in about 10 minutes or so. I hated it. I stopped writing poems till i could write real stuff. That was 20 years ago...

    What is you process...

I bang my head against the wall, then I chew my skin, then I stick pins in it, and after that I decide I'm to tired, I'm getting a headache, so I go to sleep.

    Thoughts?

yeah, but we really have no control over it. They're gonna leave if they're gonna leave, nothing we can do will keep a person around.... yep. gettin old.

    Thoughts?

You might try adding the name of the girl you are talking to or about to the song. That could give it a bit more focus, and perhaps a word to "hook" it on. that sounds like a great idea. Make the girl real in your mind, and the song will come together better.

    texturing your music

I'm exactly where you are, and I think that Rockett has it down - something you learn by playing and playing with stuff, doing your own experiments etc. Good luck, keep pushing it. If I figure anything out - I'll share it. LN ps: I'm OLD and inexperienced - imagine how that is!

    your goals

I would like to have pro ambitions one day - but I got to get over my negative thinking that gets in my way. My Alaskan friend, oddly enough, has very strong pro ambitions. But he was able to get to a point where he could be that way because he started off with all his friends as a teenager...

    your goals

sigh - that's what I'm trying to do. That's what I've been trying to do on & off for 20 years. Its just that as soon as I sit down to do something creative I get stuck in a feedback loop of, well, self-hatred that drags me down and slows me to barely a crawl, where I could and should be...

    Not message music

A good rule of thumb with asking for feedback is asking people how they reacted to it. Don't ask people for advice. Just find out - did it work, did it move you? What parts did your listener/reader like and why? what parts did they dislike and why. From there you can take the feedback and...

    your goals

Funny, I'm really good with ignoring the phone & the like - I actually have my head on right for a lot of things - like not wasting my life in an office, not getting trapped with a mortgage and kids. One small problem is that I actually ignore some urgent things when I should take care of...

funny, isn't it, how even though music is the most important thing, (so we say) but we keep putting it on the back burner... maybe it's age, that we need to pay bills ... I have a girlfreind who wants to be a photographer, but instead she is on the Arts Council for her city, helping others...
