    drum maching --> multitrack

Hi all, This is a pretty dumb question, but... I have a drum machine and it has two output jacks (left and right) and I am plugging it into my multitrack (tracks 1 and 2). How do I pan this? Do I set both tracks center or do I pan them hard left and the hard right? Thanks!

    problems recording vocals

the info... So here's my situation. I'm using the Korg D16 that has built in compressors, etc. The voice seems to need some compression, but some people are also telling me that I should put some compression over the entire mix as well. I've tried this and like it because it makes the song...

    problems recording vocals

well.... I recently purchased a Korg D16 multitrack. Although you may think that the built in preamps are not high quality, I feel they are good enough for my purpose - in fact the sound of this machine blows me away. However, I am still having trouble getting an even sound from the vocals...

    problems recording vocals

Hi all, I'm having some problems when recording my vocals on my multitrack. It seems as if they are sometimes too soft, and then other times too loud. Part of this is probably since I'm not a great singer, but maybe I also need to invest in a compressor? Will this help solve some of the...

    D-16 Burners

thanks! Thanks for the info. markert, After reading over many postings on the link you referred me to, it looks like a lot of people have been using the 8824 and have had success with it - so I'll probably go ahead and get that one. The D16 is great, but I still have a lot more learning to do...

    HELP! Problem with my NT3

thanks Thanks for the help guys. I don't think the mic will work with my 4-track, but it does with the digital recorder - which is what was planning to use it with anyway. And I should add that I am very happy with the NT3 now that I have it working!!

    wind screen?

I am just starting to use my new Rode NT3 mic (love the sound) and am wondering if I should use the wind screen that came with it. When I do the vocals I get some cracks with the t's and p's, but I'm not sure if the wind screen will take away from the crisp sound. Any thoughts on this? As...

    D-16 Burners

8424? Hey markert, I was looking for the Yamaha 8424 as you had talked about on dirtcheapdrives.com but could not find that model. They had the 8824, but not the 8424. They also had a lot of different versions of the models such as EX, PX, and SX and I'm not sure which is the best one to get...

    HELP! Problem with my NT3

I just received a new Rode NT3 today and I cannot get it to work! I put the 9V battery in for power, and the light responded indicating that it has power. I have a regular mic cord with a 1/4" end that goes into my 4-track. But I'm not getting any response from the mic. I know that the...

    D-16 Burners

confused I'm confused. I was also thinking of gettting a D16, and I figured I would buy the CD-R that Korg sells as an accessory to the D16. Why did you guy not just buy this one. Is there something it cannot do compared with the Yahmaha you are talking about?

    16 vs. 24 bit recording - what's the difference?

Here's a question for those of you who have a digital multitrack (or know about them): I've been looking into getting one of these machines (maybe the Korg D12 or D16) and they say (for instance with the D12) "The D12 allows 12 track simultaneous playback for 16 bit or 6 track simultaneous...

Hi all, I'm having a problem with my 4-track picking up a radio station. It seems to have something to do with the mic and maybe also it's boom stand. What's going on here and how can I get rid of this? It's showing up on my recordings! Thanks!
