There seem to be a lot of us in that same situation, if it makes you feel any better. I note that Chance told some to PM him, but others have said his mailbox is full. I'm still being patient. I figure that eventually that red "NO" for Items Shipped will change to "YES". Either that or the...
I'm a "G" and I received (and paid) my invoice. But my order was mics only. So it doesn't appear to be alphabetical. Maybe I just got lucky. In any event, the invoices are going out - it's just going to take a bit of time for Chance and his shippers to get through all of them. (And to...
I'm patient as well.
Back in mid-July I said "....you (and each of us) should expect your mics and/or pres somewhere between Halloween and Thanksgiving. Some may arrive a bit earlier than that, others may drag on until Christmas."
Looks to me like we're pretty much right on schedule. Chance...
Chance, I think you need to try to get Randy back involved in this. I know he's "out of pocket" at present. But this could amount to many hours of work for you, while he could probably generate the needed CSV file directly from the database in an hour or so.
While I've not worked with FedEx on this sort of thing, it would seem almost certain that they'd want each item (name, address, city, state, zip, phone) in a separate column. Otherwise there would be no way for them to parse it.
It would be hard to be more relaxed than I, thanks! :) In any event, it appears that Chance's remarks pretty much confirm what I told you.
My only goal was to answer that "inquiry" of which you speak - I've certainly not chastised anyone!. A few around here still seem to think that they'll...
Geez, gentlemen, relax. Back in July, I posted a likely timetable that suggested that most of us would receive our purchases somewhere between Halloween and Thanksgiving. The only thing that's changed since then is that the shipment from China has slipped by a couple of weeks (making them...
I don't think anyone has an "exact estimated ETA of the shipping". I'm not even sure which part of the shipping you're asking about (from China to the US? or from the US port of entry to the final purchaser?). You mention August, September, and October - I think the real answer is that all...
Just to be realistic here, Chance said that they are due to ship from China at around the end of August. That would put them in the US around the end of September. Chance will then have to coax them through customs and get them shipped. He has promised a faster method of getting the shipments...
Actually, the biggest risk is if you connect the mic to the input while the phantom is on. In that case, you can trigger quite a substantial surge through the ribbon if you happen to connect one side of the XLR before the other. But Pohaku is right that if the mic were damaged, you'd know it...
I hope you've taken into account that your recorder doesn't provide phantom power for these microphones, and they DO require it. You'll need some sort of power supply to sit in between the mics and the recorder in order for them to work at all.
As I've been trying to point out, we don't see it the same way you seem to. I've been involved in Chance's GBs since day one, and I think he and I know each other rather well (for two guys who have never met face to face anyway). I've been following Alan's companies for several years as well...
You seem to see this in black and white, but most of us are seeing shades of gray. Yes, I definitely think that your position is the minority one.
I think Chance has done his best to give us accurate information. I think Alan is doing his best to give us accurate information. I think that...
Chance, I suggest that you and Alan should talk directly (via email or phone) and see if you can come to some consensus based on the information that you each have. Once you two have digested the knowledge and information that each of you brings to the table, then please feel free to share it...
If you didn't tell your buddies that their was a considerable risk in this venture, and that they were gambling by placing this order, then you did them a real disservice. Chance is not a vendor - he is simply a generous person who has agreed to aggregate our orders and present them to a couple...
All the vocals and other instruments in that recording used Audio Technica mics. The vocals were captured with their AE4100s. I think they were a great choice.
Audio Technica's HQ is about five miles from the venue. They like us to use their mics. <g>
