My chain at this point as become pretty much all analog/tube. Do you think using the 22-2 at the final stages would bring TOO much warmth to the master? And also, do you use the 32 as your main mastering deck/why do you prefer it over the 22-2?

Ah, I forgot to make it clear that I dont actually release anything in mono. I just prefer the precision of working mono. But I guess to put it in a nutshell, is mono mixing through one dead center speaker the most accurate way of mixing in mono?

Okay. So I bought the m30. Does anyone know where to get knobs/caps for the faders? Or old Teac/Tascam Parts in general? Also, Im currently trying to get one of two 80-8's. Both of which are in good condition.

So, I came across an add for a Tascam Teac 80-8 Unit, would this be a good match, or should I go for the 38? I'm about to buy the M30 on Monday, the reel to reel Saturday, and some Yamaha NS10's on Saturday as well. If I got the 80-8 what would I be looking for in terms of accessories?

How would you describe the sound of the e609 in comparison with a 57?

Did you use th e609 on top snare, bottom, or both? I was considering doing some combo of the 57 and the e609 on the snare.

Have you used that particular pre? If so, how close to the Neve is it, and in general what do you think of it?

I was looking at picking up a handfull of Golden Age 73's. Neve clones basically. Not going to be the real thing, but its affordable and does seem to have good reviews.

I just like the warmth that tube brings. And by budget is something along the lines of 4000-5000 for all of my new studio ugrades, not just the pre's. New interface, new monitors, new mics, more stands, more cables, and hopefully some good pre's to give me a little something on my tracks.
