I'm listening to in headphones at the moment.. This second mix is slightly more pleasing however not as loud. Snare is much better sounding IMO. I have noticed in both that in some parts the guitars don't sync with each other.

I actually found that PureVolumes current player doesn't sound all that bad when listening to it for background music purposes in headphones while doing some intensive college school work ;)

I actually do like using an exciter on the Bass guitar for a more well rounded out sound in the "in your face" rock type mixing. Not sure what genre you are doing though... Anything else however i found that outboard mixers brighten better than software mixers.
