I'm running the EXACT same computer with 512 MB of RAM and Logic works over here. It has some issues because of the amount of RAM I have, but it still records and plays back just fine.

Depends on the mics. I spent an hour this morning playing around with overhead miking. I have a pair of C4's with omni and cardioid caps. With the omni caps, I couldn't get any "modern" drum sound. It always sounded like a room mic. Very cool if compressed and run through a saturation...

Out of curiosity are the MSH-1's designed to avoid this problem? I didn't hear any distortion in any of the sound clips on the site, even on my big speakers. I know that's a concern with kick mics (especially placed just inside the hole in the front head) but should be okay on toms, correct...

FYI, check out Copeland's first album, "Beneath Medicine Tree." All the vocals were done with an NT-2 into an Avalon into an 1176 (straight from Aaron himself). I use it and even with cheapie pre's it sounds fantastic. I'm selling a bunch of mics and buying a second one :D Check out...

Bumping to see if anyone has used the MSH-1's on toms. Do they distort at high SPL's? How close do you have them in? Cardio or omni? Would be curious to see about getting a few of these for tom reinforcement...cheap enough that I wouldn't feel the need to get rid of them for cash :D
