how do i save a track and then open it up in sound forge to add effects? i think i need to save it as a wav file but cw doesn't give me that option. any ideas would be appreciated
I think that pretty much any scsi hard drive will work with the fd-8 as long as it's the right scsi.
When I got mine I was using a zip 100 drive first, then a friend gave me an old apple 1 gig scsi hd and it has worked flawlessly,
even though it isn't on fostex's list of hd's.
thank you, thankyou (ndxs bows), and thanx to my wife for a killer late father's day gift in spite of the fact that we currently have three kids and one on the way, two cats, a golden retriever, and a cockatiel(sp?) Hope I get time to play it.
Hey cvd,
How about the basics? zip disc is formatted/ zip drive is scsi (not parallel port, etc.) scsi cable is good/ zip drive is addressed and terminated/
Hope I'm not being too obvious but I couldn't tell by your post if you had used the fd4 or if it was new to you.
Hope this...
Well, the compressor I wanted to use has built in noise gates, so I thought they would be handy to keep stage noise coming thru the PA down to a minimum, but mainly, I guess vocalists w/ limited experience would be the main reason for use of the compressor.
Where would the compressor go in the signal chain?
Suppose I've got a Dual mono/ Stereo linkable (?) comp to hook up to the mixing board for a live performance, approximately 14 channels of a 16 channel mixer are being used, mics, guitars, keyboards, bass, etc...
Do I put the comp on the main...
I may not be qualified to answer this since i still use the fd8, but, on my recorder the fd8 has to format the scsi hdd by itself. (ok, w/ some prompting), in whatever format it is that fostex uses so the hdd is ready to record to.
Good luck
Thanx all. That helps me understand the gain/ fader level thing much better. What about the monitor section of the mixer though? Once the input signal strength is set by the gain control, that doesn't change (as per dachay2tnr)then you set the monitor level and that is not affected by the fader...
Maybe this belongs in the newbie forum. Hope not.
I recently started mixing live band stuff and frankly, I don't understand the difference between the gain control on a channel and the fader on the same channel. They both seem like volume controls to me. Also, does the monitor volume level...
