I'm a folk singer so mostly it's just me and tenor guitar.
So my usual routine would be half a dozen takes of the same song, choose the best one and clean it up.
At this stage the song should be able to stand on its own. If not, start again.
If it's fine I send it off for some bass. When the...
I loathe my voice and never play it back without adding a little warmth.
I try to be as analytical as I can when editing and tune out the fact that it's me I'm hearing.
Sometimes though, I just can't take it.
I've had the Fast Track Pro and passed it on to a nephew.
Superb unit. Loaded with features. Never let me down but does produce some pops and crackles when stretched to the limits.
Just had a look at the M Box Mini and can't figure out why it costs so much.
Not even in the same league from what...
Download a free trial of Mixcraft 4.
http://www.acoustica.com/download.htm
It's made for folks like us.
I use the Korg D3200 stand alone to record, by the way but then transfer the files immediately into Mixcraft for editing.
Nothing records like a recorder and computers are far more superior...
I own a lot of Behringer gear and have only had one interaction with their product services. A faulty mic which I had bought for a friend. They did everything but drive up to his home with the new one.
I told this story to a Berry Rep and he laughed. "You know" he says "I have a piece of gear in...
Nicely done!
I'll come looking for you if I ever need to fix my ribbons.
You think you could start a "Show Me" thread on checking and repairing ribbon tension?
Hey!
Nice to meet a fellow Mixcraft user. Take a look at this http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/MAudio-FastTrack-Ultra-USB-2.0-Audio-Interface?sku=241806 and save yourself a buck!
Coincidentally, I'm waiting for my ADA 8000 to arrive but I'll be using it as a preamp or as an add...
I'm into Nady. Great mics but really touchy for a beginner.
I found the RSM 4 a bit dark. (Passed it along to a friend)
The RSM 5 astounding
and the RSM 2 better still but all requiring a touch more gain than the most interfaces have to offer.
The AKG Perception, like any other mic under $100...

That's a nice unit being sold by some one here at a very decent price.
Much better than tape or minidisc and fairly intuitive.
Interesting read. I have allowed my set up to be dictated by the length of my cables and have strictly adhered to the 20' rule. In fact, when I'm using the audio interface, every cable is 10'.
Maybe a decent snake is a worthwhile purchase after all.
If it's software your looking for, I'd probably suggest Samplitude in your case.
They are always upgrading so the previous model usually goes for cheap on E-bay.
It follows basically the same model as Cubase and is quite intuitive.
Given that you're doing this for the church, I'm guessing that...
Hey Anass:
I joined this site just over a year ago when a newby just like yourself asked the exact same question and was given the exact same treatment as you were.
I messaged the individual with some encouragement and suggestions of my own and have not returned to or posted on...
