    I-mic with Xenyx 802

I know what you mean. I guess ideally, I should've bought a mixer that came with a USB interface, but the xenyx 802 was all I could afford at the time. I'll def. shop around. thanks for the input!

    I-mic with Xenyx 802

although, I should add, if I can keep it under $100, that'd be great. I hope I can still get something decent for that price range.

    I-mic with Xenyx 802

oh really, I figured they wasn't too much of a difference between seeing as how they are merely adapters. I'm willing to spend the money, as I have a rode nt1a mic, and would hate for it to turn to shit all b/c of a crappy adapter

    I-mic with Xenyx 802

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get your advice on trying to get my xenyx 802 mixer into a USB compatible system. I currently run my xenyx 802 through my pod xt live so that my macbook can recognize my mixer. However, I was thinking about trying out the i-mic (as the pod xt live probably...

ahhh gotcha great post adam, that makes a lot of sense so lets say i prefer to record everything seperately, would i still need the Y splitter? as i may as well just record one mono track at a time, no? also, i'm recording mostly acoustic guitar, so maybe i would need stereo recording for that?

    Y Splitter Cable

thanks for the response adam but isn't that just giving me 2 separate mono tracks? I mean i set my garageband to stereo input giving me 2 channels but the xenyx manual says if i plug into anything besides the stereo input i'll simply get a mono input or 2 separate mono channels if i plug into...

    Y Splitter Cable

first off, thanks a ton for all your help and input my only question, is when you say plug straight into my soundcard, I'm confused at that soundcard = macbook?

    Y Splitter Cable

cuz i lack phantom power i have a rode nt1a and the cheapest mixer that came with phantom power was the xenyx 802

so I also used a 1/8 adapter (the macbook has one so you can plug your regular guitar able into it and record directly I also am tryin to simply plug the mixer into the 1/8 jack and plug that into the macbook itself like you would with a guitar but no luck with that either!

    Y Splitter Cable

haha thanks but unfortunately it didn't work. Does pod xt live not to do stereo output? Cuz I get no sound when I go into the stereo jacks of the mixer, but I do when I go into the mono jacks arrgghh

    Y Splitter Cable

ok well first off I realized I screwed up when I plugged into the MAIN OUT instead of the STEREO AUX RETURN (as according to the manual which I should've read a long time ago, says that the main outs are simply 2 unbalanced mono jacks) The POD XT is on a bypass mode and in the system...

    Y Splitter Cable

I have the mixer cuz I need phantom power for my Rode NT1A mic (I couldn't get a phantom power on its own that gives out enough V's) My macbook doesn't have firewire, just usb 2.0

    Y Splitter Cable

well I need to be able to record onto my laptop yet my mixer doesn't have USB capability. So that's why I send it through the POD XT Live which does have a USB outlet for my macbook. I have stereo input selected on garageband but like I said, wasn't I technically recording in mono before i got...

    Y Splitter Cable

I bought a Y cable splitter because before I would simply plug in a single guitar cable from my behringer xenyx 802 into my pod xt live. There is a "L" and an "R" on the MAIN OUT for the xenyx 802 and I would just plug into the left channel and then record. Since I was only technically plugged...

I REALLY need your help!! (recording issues)

Yeah, I know my initial question is a bit weird/hard to figure out unless you're actually seeing the settings on everything. I'll check the EQ though i don't think I've changed anything.
