oh really, I figured they wasn't too much of a difference between seeing as how they are merely adapters. I'm willing to spend the money, as I have a rode nt1a mic, and would hate for it to turn to shit all b/c of a crappy adapter

ahhh gotcha great post adam, that makes a lot of sense so lets say i prefer to record everything seperately, would i still need the Y splitter? as i may as well just record one mono track at a time, no? also, i'm recording mostly acoustic guitar, so maybe i would need stereo recording for that?

thanks for the response adam but isn't that just giving me 2 separate mono tracks? I mean i set my garageband to stereo input giving me 2 channels but the xenyx manual says if i plug into anything besides the stereo input i'll simply get a mono input or 2 separate mono channels if i plug into...

when i use headphones straight into my mixer i can hear the stereo output but the second i go into the pod xt or the macbook i lose the sound this sucks

damn man, like i can use the 1/8 audio jack to record guitar but when i take out my guitar and hook up my mic i get no sound :(

it's just a macbook regular (not pro, model 1.1) yeah if you could figure this out i'd appreciate it big time!

cuz i lack phantom power i have a rode nt1a and the cheapest mixer that came with phantom power was the xenyx 802

so I also used a 1/8 adapter (the macbook has one so you can plug your regular guitar able into it and record directly I also am tryin to simply plug the mixer into the 1/8 jack and plug that into the macbook itself like you would with a guitar but no luck with that either!

I bought a Y cable splitter because before I would simply plug in a single guitar cable from my behringer xenyx 802 into my pod xt live. There is a "L" and an "R" on the MAIN OUT for the xenyx 802 and I would just plug into the left channel and then record. Since I was only technically plugged...
