My friend and I have between us, a Miktek MK300 condenser, an SM57, and an SM58. We record acoustic guitars as well as mic electric guitar amps. I'm wondering what might be a good buy going forward. I love that main guitar riff - I'll leave it to other more knowledgeable people to comment on the vocals. They sound country-ish which is cool considering the theme of the song. Catchy!

What exact equipment are you using. It sounfs like clipping to me. Maybe try backing down the gain on the mics input.

An ordinary mic boom would work. Unless you will be reading from the monitor then it wouldn't.

Are you doing podcasts or recording music? From what I can tell an ordinary mic boom will work. If you are doing podcasts I couldn't say except it would block your display.
