I disagree. And I'm not going out of my way, Farview. I just simply never had need for more of their plugins. I have, for the most part, been using the same collection of plugins for years now and they're just fine, imo. I would have never gotten the cards had I not bought my studio partner...

They're pretty comparable units but the MOTU has more outputs and doesn't have MIDI. Do you need 32 outputs? I would most likely get the Focusrite. Cheers :)

But that's the point. The other card is PCI-e. I want the plugins authorized on that card as well. It's a matter of principle. I bought a UAD-1 card with the plugins authorized on it. I should be able to use them with both cards because they are in the same hardware group. Cheers :)

The biggest advantage for Pro Tools TDM and HD|X systems has always been zero latency monitoring with processing on input. You need a pretty beefy machine to do that natively. Cheers :)
