ill buy your motu, you tryin to get rid of it?

so i think im set on getting a motu 626, but im looking at the ones on ebay and the older version of it the sampling rates dont go up to 96k, they do like 48 i think. is that gonna be a problem? should i try and get the one that came out this year? I dont fuly understand what the sampling rate...

there are balanced and unbalanced cables? I thought just the ports had to be balanced...jeez more money...

i know thats what it is, im saying what alters the sound being recorded, the actuall sound the comp makes is getting recorded?? or is it that that sound the comp makes is somehow disrupting the signal coming through

when you talk about the comp making noise, is that that the physical sound of the comp gets recorded? Or is it that the noise interferes with the information transfer from the source thats the problem?

damn, now im lookin gfor this hammerfal thing everybodys talkin about, but theres like 5 or 6 different versions of it. the cards arent even that expensive, like 269.

whats spdif?? what does driver support matter? and better yet, does anybody know a site or a page where somebody compares the sound of each card? cuz i really dont care about the extra hookups, i just need to record from an analog line level from the MPC, but i want the best sound i can get...

thanks alot guys...so i guess the consensus is the ap 2496 would be best? cuz i just need really to record 2 analog ins into the comp, and speaker outs, I can do without midi. and whats the difference between digital in and analog ins? do the plugs look the same?

how does the audiophile 2496 stack up? is it the same quality?

Im trying to figure out which card to buy and I was hoping you guys could help me. Which one of these cards sound better, the Delta 1010 or the 44? Is there a difference in sound between them, or just the capabilities? And I dont understand what breakout boxes are for...whats the advantage of...

im recording from an MPC 2000 into audition through an AC97, which is some bullshit, i know...anyway, after I record the tracks, they play slightly faster than they really are originally, does anybody know why this is? The card? the sample rate? slow comp?

Im kinda new to this audio recording thing, Im trying to lay down tracks from my MPC 2000 to audition, and i dont have midi or smpte, which i dont even know what they do but I think its something with timing. Anyway Im laying the tracks down individually and I cant get them to time up right...
