    Import ProTools?

Thanks for clearing that up. I really only had a chance to skim through a post on the REAPER forum about your translator (I didn't even know you were the developer until a few days ago! Great work by the way! ) which is why the automation part of my post is way off. Now we know who to turn to...

    reaper any good?

Don't be so harsh guys. He also said he likes REAPER because: I'm pretty sure themes weren't the sole deciding factor here.

Will Adobe Audition work well with my mixer?

In college, we had a few MultiMix 8's and MultiMix 12's connected to different computers. They worked just fine. I should mention that these were the USB versions and not the FireWire versions (although, it shouldn't really matter which one you use...)

How do you change the tempo of a track? Or is that even possible.

That's what it's called! That was bugging me all night haha.

How do you change the tempo of a track? Or is that even possible.

You can either alt+drag an edge of the item to stretch it to match the tempo or hit alt+enter and change from "time" to "beats" I'm not at my computer right now, so I don't remember exactly what that setting is called, but I know it's a dropdown box.

How does one line up tracks in reaper when they are out of sync.

Glad you got it worked out :) Right-clickng and keyboard shortcuts will become your new best friend in REAPER. That's funny that you posted it there. I usually hang out there A LOT more than I do on this website. I must have missed it! Oh well. Problem solved :D

How does one line up tracks in reaper when they are out of sync.

If you need to move the entire item, you can either zoom in and move the item manually or use the JS time adjuster plugin. You can also hold 'alt' while dragging inside of the item to move the data without actually moving the item itself. If you need to cut and stretch, click where you want to...

    midi drum editor?

Yep! Just double-click the midi item to open the piano roll view. If you click "View," you can select triangles or diamonds to represent hits if you don't want the standard midi note rectangles. You can also load drum maps into REAPER so the keys display the names of the instruments in the...

    Upright Bass Eq in Reaper?

I totally agree with you. You get something along the lines of a 6dB increase (if I remember correctly, I don't duplicate tracks, myself.) The reason it's most likely "sounding better" is because it's louder, as mentioned, and you may also be cutting some frequencies where the two EQ's overlap...

    Fade

That's just per-track though, isn't it? ...or maybe it's one of the countless features I haven't discovered yet. :D But yes, volume automation on the master track is the usual way to fade out an entire project.

    Import ProTools?

I just read somewhere that AATranslator is workng on a (or maybe it's finished..I can't remember) PT 5 to REAPER translator. If I remember right, it seemed pretty limited as far as automation goes, but could still be useful, I'm sure.

    Import ProTools?

Unfortunately, DigiDesign/Avid use a encrypted project format, so the only real way to import sessions would be to consolidate your tracks so they span the entire length of the song, then import them as .wav files into REAPER. However, and independent developer is working on OMF support for...

No need to render it. 1.) Right-Click + Drag to lasso select your items. (or CTRL + Click) 2.) Right-click -> "Glue Selected Items" :D

    MIDI Editing Question

To clear up that last post, lasso is right-click + drag. You could try turning on "Ripple Editing" just for the track (click the ripple edit button once for selected track, twice for all tracks) ...I just tried it for you :) Ripple editing only seems to push other items forward when you...

REAPER v3.1 - Better, Stronger, Faster

Exactly! DAWs today are pretty comparable when it comes to features, and we all know that all DAWs sound the same from the countless null tests that have been done. Really, it all comes down to the workflow and how the user's brain is wired. Use what's comfortable for YOU. Price doesn't...

REAPER v3.1 - Better, Stronger, Faster

Yeah I heard Logic 9 is pretty amazing. The Logic users may not have "switched" but are probably using Reaper on their PCs. My post was just reporting what I've read over the past year or so in the Reaper forums. Also, v3.102 is out:
