How do the drums influence the arrangement of a song ?

Yeah it's always interesting when you hear different drummers' takes on songs, though in my work I find I don't tend to stray away from what's already been programmed - which is a testament to non-drummers being pretty good at programming the right beats! Drum machines have certainly helped there.

I just cannot play with a click

It takes months and even years to become comfortable with a click, but once you get your own internal click going, you'll be fine. Playing along to drumbeats is OK, but if a situation ever arises where you're only able to play with a click, you'll be screwed. Personally it was one of the best...

Is it best to write the music first or the lyrics?

The Manic Street Preachers (remember them anyone in the UK?) always write the lyrics before the music, as they have a confusing situation where the bass player writes all the lyrics, and then gives them to the singer, who writes the music. Sometimes the lyrics don't fit and the lines don't start...

Who uses a room mic on top of close mic ups?

Is this about literally recording live?

    Time Signatures!

I have a side project where we dabbled in some insanity. Nothing too complex, but I think over the course of one album we played in 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 13!

How to make vocals blend into a mix

Reverb is usually a solution if you want to bury something!

    Panning drums and guitars

For a standard two-guitar rock song, you'd probably want to pan the rhythms hard left and right, while keeping the extremities of the drum panning inside those limits.

Close miking guitar cabs with condenser mics

You'd probably be best off using a condenser to try and get something out of the room, if it's responsive.

Pitch Correction for acousti guitar strum

Wow, never knew, maybe someone who isn't a douche will come along and do it right.

    I'm not deep.

Yeah I know, well what I mean is a lyric that starts out with something like "I'm in love with you and I don't know what to do" is just so basic and obvious. I've probably done it now, I bet there's two dozen number ones that start with more or less that exact line.

Pitch Correction for acousti guitar strum

Now here's a thing . . . imagine if you could record multitrack guitar, and have each string going to a separate channel. That'd solve the OP's problem so sweat :D

    I'm not deep.

If anything, you can make your songs more interesting by writing lyrics which don't really hint at being about one particular subject and are open to interpretation. There's nothing worse than lyrics which are self-explanatory.

How Many Guitars do you own

Two: Harley Benton HBD120BK Epiphone Les Paul Standard Not exactly the greatest selection, but guitar is just a second instrument for me. The acoustic isn't all that bad, plenty of guitarists have had a go on it and said it's fine.

    Mattresses

Is it quiet near this place? You don't want the sound of wind/cars/kids/sirens getting onto the recording, though it could be kind of cool for a garage vibe :guitar:

Band Walks Into Your Studio...But doesnt know the tempo of the song....

Yeah, if they've never played to a click while writing and they've got all these impromptu tempo changes going on, it's better not spring a click on them in the studio. Half the time'll be spent by them trying to relearn the song!

Has the solo had it's day ?

Yeah going on virtuosity, the solo definitely hasn't had its day, in that type of music. I remember there was a big "no solos" trend in the early 2000s, but did it ever really lift? I thought it did for a time, but looking back it looks like it didn't.

    Re-Amping bass drum

What the OP wants to do sounds pretty crazy, though it wouldn't be if they wanted to play the whole kit through an amp/speakers if they wanted to get some sort of room sound they could blend in. Tuning is the key with a kick, plus keeping all the strokes firm and even.

How many tracks do you use to record drums?

Eight. Kick, snare top, snare bottom, toms x2, OHs x2, room.
