Doesn't glow at all. How do you determine whether it's a case of a tube needing replacement vs. a power supply problem? Oops. Never mind. I guess that's what the voltmeter is for isn't it? Sorry, I'm very technically challenged and not even sure what a voltmeter is for but I will find out...

The power adapter has been for several minutes now and it doesn't feel warm to the touch like it normally did when it was working fine. I would really appreciate anyone's help.

I'm tempted to unscrew it and look at the diaphragm but I still won't know what to look for. Any thoughts?

I just plugged it in a few hours ago and can't seem to get it working. The power supply seems to be working okay (the blue light is on) and all connections are fine but no sound. I plugged the NTK into different mic inputs on my AKAI DAW and no sound from any of them. My AT4040 sounds fine...

Olflattop, Opinions like these are exactly what I wanted to hear. If what you're saying is accurate, then I don't think there is really a need for me to upgrade. I would rather spend "serious green" on another guitar than another mic, especially because the NTK works very well with my vocals...

I was looking for something that was a step up and complement the NTK and the AT4040 that I already have. Never heard of the Peluso. My research continues.

I like the NTK but then again I've never tried your other options.

Did you mean lateral? Would an AT 4060 be more of an upgrade? I'm just going by price range.

Sorry for the newb question. Obviously technically challenged, I read the specs and still don't know. I currently have the NTK into the RNP/RNC combo and it works well for me but I just wanted to add another mic. If I go with the KSM44 (based on the reviews here), would I be upgrading? Music...

Have you given the AKA DPS 16 a consideration? I have one and like it a lot. However, I can't compare it to the two that you are considering. The AKAIs got excellent reviews and used ones pop up every once in a while on ebay. http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/Akai/DPS16-01.html

Thanks Guitarhunny. I wish I knew what vibrato is. Doesn't matter, I'm good at it! One mic was pointed a the 12th-13th fret and the other was directly in the soundhole. I'd like to try pointing it below the bridge. For some reason, the x-y did not appeal to me but will experiment with that...
