My friend swears vocal range is a myth

Everyone has there own natural vocal range and it can be expanded somewhat through vocal training. There is an art to singing. Opera singers for instance learn how to uses their vocal chords to hit high notes without straining. You can cause damage if you strain your vocal chords too much.

    She Moved Through the Fair

May be an "old song" but it's new to me. Very haunting and beautiful. After the "accapella" singing, the subtle introduction of the "bagpipe" sound and the following flute solo is wonderfully effective. In its entirety the arrangement of the song gives one the feeling of a long journey (in a...

    Violin Mic

Studio Projects C4's work great on my Stenway B for classical recordings, and I have a sense that they would do a great job for violin as well. They come in pairs as well as with interchangeable capsules (cardioid and omni) so you would have a great deal of flexibility experimenting which you...

    The Secret To Great Recordings

The quality of the players as well as the quality of the music is the most important factor on the one hand, but the "truer" the sound reproduction, the more apparent that quality will be, and the better effect it will have on the listener.

    A classical cover

Sounds awesome. Very rich, warm clear sound. I like it. I wish recording the grand piano was easier! It seems more accessable to get a "truer" sound with a guitar.

How do you Make a Cd from WAVE file?!?

    Digital Editing or playing perfect?

I aim for perfect but settle on someting like 75%. If I am satisfied with about that much of the recording then I go with it. My main criteria is how effectively the message or musical content is being conveyed. That takes precedent over technical mistakes unless the technical mistakes disrupt...

Can anyone reccommend a good CD replication/packaging co.?

Been shopping around online. Some of the companies have some bad reviews. Even good companies can have a few disatified customers so neg reviews don't necessarily mean anything, but---. Anyone have a good consistent experience with a particular company?
