Is there a way to add an s/pdif output to a synth? I've got a Roland xv-88 (no s/pdif output) and just bought the echo mia, which has s/pdif i/o, and I'd like to record to it without going through analog converters.

Just got a new xv-88 and cakewalk pro-audio 9. I'm new to recording on my computer. Do I need a new sound card to do it if I'm only recording the xv-88 sounds in layers? Anyone had any luck finding a cable to connect your xv-88 using the "convenient computer cable output?"

Has anyone tried connecting the xv-88 to their computer via the serial port? If so, where did you you get the appropriate cable? I can't find it. Thanks in advance.
