How to play 4 separate MP3's simultaneously

I had posted a thread a few days ago but realized I wasn't really asking the right question(atleast not clearly). I'm not sure how to delete that thread so I'll try again. I'm looking for a way to play 4 separate MP3's or tracks at the same time. I had bought a Focusrite 2i/4o usb interface...

    Standalone units with multiple outs

Good morning, I'm looking for some insight in regards to any standalone interfaces that are able to play back 4 separate outputs simultaneously. We use backing tracks for live shows but we're needing more than just the tracks(left) and click track(right). I bought a small interface to use with...

    Dual micing

Ok, so would a technique like that be beneficial with a 57 and a 58? Or any other mic?

    Dual micing

For some reason I was under the impression that overheads were primarily for cymbals, I never thought that they could add to the overall sound of the toms and snare, interesting. Thank-you gents! I've got a lot of experimenting to do now.

    Dual micing

Wow, lots of different techniques, thanks for that. Farview, I know that using 2 identical mics may seem unnecessary, however seeing as the positioning of each mic effects the overall tone the 2 mics wouldn`t be aligned the same. I watched a few videos about micing cabs and discovered that many...

    Dual micing

Sorry I forgot to mention. With the overheads, I've seen people measure the distance of their mics from the pedal beater with a string(one over the left side, and one on the right). My overheads are primarily for cymbals, all other drums are close mic'd. Would it be best to keep them closer...

    Dual micing

Lots of great information, thank-you all for your insight! I can see that mic setup takes a lot of practice and I'm working at it. I just finished recording an album for my band and we got it professionally mixed and mastered. I asked him how the tracking was and he said their was phase issues...

    Dual micing

Good evening, It's been awhile since I've been on here, and I'm not sure why I've been absent, I love it here. Anyways, I'm going to ask a question that I'm sure you've answered before, however my searches haven't exactly answered them all. I got myself 2 SM57's, based on a number of reviews...

    Drum module quiet and distorted.

Greetings, I'm not sure where to post this, I am still a newb so here it is. I bought a drum module off of ebay(untested, sold as is) I knew while getting into it that there was a risk that it would be DOA. To my surprise it powered up right away but when I went to test it, it was extremely...

    $30 mix and master

Thanks for that moresound. I did the 'electro' stuff with FL 8 and an Alesis Micron. I'm very pleased with the outcome of my track. We'll be sending him 2 more tracks next week. I'll add them to this thread once their completed.

    $30 mix and master

I did the tracking for this song and sent the OMF to an engineer in a nearby city who mixed and mastered the track for $30. Was it worth $30? Take a gander! http://soundcloud.com/vesselsofveritas/this-orange-is-red myspace.com/vesselsofveritas

    I need an egineer!

I got the final copy back! I'm thrilled, I think it sounds great(after all this is the first track I've had mixed & mastered). If you'd like to hear it, it's up on our myspace.com/vesselsofveritas

    I need an egineer!

Oh no worries, it's great to get other opinions, even on other matters. To the others: Like I said before I could do the mixing(and I do plan to in the future) but this guy has a lot of experience, especially in the my genre. I don't take any offense to the fact that I'm still considered a...

    I need an egineer!

Well luckily for me, he actually replied today(of course right after I start this thread). I too don't understand how he can charge so little and still put out a good product. I'm sure a lot of pro's such as yourselves wouldn't even consider using the services of someone who's rates are so...

    I need an egineer!

Luck struck me a few months ago when I posted a rough mix of my band on our myspace. An audio engineer from a nearby city caught wind of it and offered to mix and master the track for us. We're in the process of recording a 5 song EP and further discussed and concluded that he would mix and...

Recorded sound through monitors in Cubase

Ooook, I think I'm getting the hang of this. I didn't see the little presonus logo in the bottom right hand side of the screen, when I clicked on that, installed the latest firmware and rebooted my firestudio project I could actually access the universal control mixer. Now I've obviously never...

I found the Universal Control, however when I open it I get the following message: MIX IS CURRENTLY BYPASSED. OUTPUT "1/2" IS ASSIGNED DIRECT TO DAW RETURN 1-2 Current firmware is incompatible with Universal Control. Use settings menu to check firmware. I can't click anything in the Universal...
