I'm pretty happy with this song..but wish i could get rid of the breaths/gasps a bit more? tried using focusrite gate, and also the izotope alloy de-esser/breath controls but doesn't seem to do much? And with cubase 6 elements seems like you're limited to vsts..so wondered your opinions on the...

i've tried using focusrite gate and izotope breath vsts to try and get rid of some breaths/gasps on a rap vocal. i wondered what other ways are there to get rid of them, as you never heard them loads on pro recording?

of course..like i said, these are just practise raps for flow and purely the basis i am the world's worst studio engineer therefore the more i record the more practise i get..

great :) yeah i need to get my speakers from downstairs and get them hooked up :) so i got proper monitors in fairness :)

Hahha thanks stein..apparently by another using ive been told my vocals sound too 'flanged'..and also need a de-esser/compression..would you agree? i think perhaps compressin definetely..:) ps: i dont normally rap crap stereotypical material like this..but is more of a play around you know to...

Thanks for the feedback, thats very interesting as it's actually a Tyga cover song, so the beat wasn't mine but tyga/universal musics :) i just did my kinda version/take on it on the mp3 instrumental..Thanks for the compliments though on my vocals :)

yeah am trying to am just at my wits end..read book after book..dvd after dvd..can't get anywhere near to the sound i want..even paid for mixing mastering and been more unhappy :(
