The mix is bad and I can't even hear your voice. Try posting something else that you record, or remix this to bring out the vocal. I can't tell one way or another if you are singing with a head voice or not with this.
Well good luck with you endeavors. I don't know what else I can say to help out. I only know what worked for me doesn't work for everyone. My daughter took lessons from a voice coach, and it messed her up. She sang higher and with more confidence BEFORE she took lessons. We are all different.
You listened to my cover of Fantasy, right? There were several other people in the room when I recorded that. I was wearing headphones so all they could hear is my voice as I belted that song into the mic. I don't expect you to do that, but the more you practice and gain confidence, the better...
Yeah, I am still in the Philippines. Here are those karaoke things. Remember not to be eating or drinking when you listen. Makes a mess on your screen....
This is an original. A song I did for true-eurt on her birthday several years back.
Hey, it's good to hear from you too! I am just mostly lurking around. I will post a couple karaoke things I did while ago. I can't record my own stuff anymore due to lack of gear and arthritis, but I am working on my voice, which, let's face it, I needed to.
Yep, these are still in my attachments. And neither one of them looks like this now. In fact, that male character isn't even being used any longer because he has issues that make posing him a mess.
Here is an example of one of my characters; a cyborg female. It's a superhero comic, and the main character is a guy named Green Lightning. I think there were some very early renders I'd done (which weren't all that great, I was just starting out) in the old rep point thread back in 2011...
No, not anything beyond the karaoke stuff I am doing now. If you remember, back a few years ago, I had all my equipment stolen. It turned out to be an inside job. One of my wife's relatives did it. But we never recovered any of it. I was so bummed I stopped even playing for a couple of years...
I wasn't going to post this one because it's embarrassing as hell. It was one of the first things I tried to record and I had no idea what I was doing. The guitars are all DI'd, there is a drum machine instead of real drums, and the vocal....
Please don't offer mix advice because I can't...
You should get yourself a small, pocket sized digital recorder. When you are alone and with no chance of anyone hearing you, practice singing without restraint. I'll be you'll see a difference. Then work your way up to singing in front of people again.
And try more karaoke without the duet...
Don't.
Don't try to hide your voice. Let 'er rip!
When I first started recording my voice, I was afraid to let it go and be natural. The results were the comments about fighting cats. If you don't think about someone judging you and just let your natural, comfortable voice do its thing, you...
I can't really recommend a genre, but I can tell you what not to sing. That song. Nirvana is meant to be sung a lot more guttural than that.
Perhaps find a female song?
I have been listening to these tracks too much to be impartial anymore. If you could point out the spots where the phrasing is less than stellar I could probably go back and fix them...
