Studio Projects B1 packages- which one?

You already have a nice pre -- the DMP3. (Sorry for the rhyme...:-p) Anyways, I would go with the package from 8thstreet.com. For what it's worth, I have an MXL v67g, and it's a dark-sounding mic. I'm not sure about the B1...

    2 Delta 44s?

Yeah, you can run 2 44's at once. I think the driver supports up to 4 at a time.

    Downside Up

Sometimes it's easier to fit a music stand below the mic when it's "hung" from a higher position, and upside down [downside up]. And sometimes, it just looks cooler!

    recording package

Sure, his setup would pull it off. But the talent really lies in the engineer -- not the gear. YOU have to know about mic placements, tracking, mixing, and all that good stuff. And, yeah, you need to have good gear for it all to be captured well, but it really starts with the engineer...

    EWI Cables

Sweet! I just bought a 4-pack from those Audiophile guys for 35 bucks! They seem like some good cables. I suppose even Mogami or Canare wouldn't sound great through my Yamaha pre's! Thanks for the tip! :)

    EWI Cables

I found a good deal for EWI Cables (4 for 35 bucks), and I was wondering if they're any good. It's either that package, or I buy some Whirlwinds from zzounds or something. Has anyone used/heard of EWI Cables?? Thanks, Justin

    Help Needed on SoundProofing

Sound travels through air, so you're going to need to make the room have an air-tight seal for no sound to escape. Yes, it is possible, but this is a Home Recording forum, and most homeowners don't have that kind of money! What it looks like you should do, is Acoustical Treatment. That's where...

    Anyone heard of...

Yeah, I believe my friend has an SM58 knock-off of theirs. Sounds nothing like the shure. I'm not really experienced enough to be able to tell you exactly what it's lacking, but it just sounds a lot duller than a real 58! Seems like it's harsher up top, and a lot duller in the mids. (Or so it...

    Stereo Mic Bar

Thanks C7. That's more what I was looking for. turnitdown - I might get the OnStage one for starters. I have 3 OnStage boom stands and they're pretty much crap when you get them up high enough. One of the poles is bent, but I guess that bar is better quality! Thanks to you both! :)

    Stereo Mic Bar

Of course I could have done that. And I did. But there's so many out there, I wanted YOUR opinion on which one you use and why. OnStage stuff is usually crap. I want something that is quality and will last be a while.
