Acoustic Treatment, is my room "difficult"?!

Ok I have another question! Would building a partition wall across the room to the wall with the water cooler in the corner help or hurt? It would make the room smaller but it wouldn't be as oddly shaped. The dimensions would be 15' 3" long and 11' 6" wide. This would also help with...

Acoustic Treatment, is my room "difficult"?!

Alright... I'm planning it out here. I plan to build some corner bass traps, but how would I do the middle corners (not above the window). The angled ceiling I think is 45 degrees (not sure of the roof slope). Unless their is a better way to do it, I would need to make an incredibly technical...

Acoustic Treatment, is my room "difficult"?!

That's my room (note that my GoPro camera causes a fish-eye effect, the room isn't that big). I think it's about 25+ feet long (from window to door). Now I have this really bad bass problem I've always gotten and now I'm finally going to fix it. I also want to make this room acoustically...

    Is what i'm doing honest

Yea you aren't the only one, and if you enjoy doing it, do it! But honestly if you were a big hit and people found out you just pieced together other peoples work (despite paying for it), you wouldn't earn much credit for "making" music. Isn't making your own beats and instrumental parts...

    Cable Stuck!!!

Well I got the cable out by prying it with a screw driver. I can't believe how hard it was in! Anyway, my amp is a Line 6 Spider Jam. It has a "high quality" left and right RCA output for recording purposes (I use it like a preamp). Now what's weird is I can get this very high pitched sound to...

    Cable Stuck!!!

I was messing around with some cables after hearing about unbalanced and balanced lines and so forth. I plugged 2 1/4 cables into my firebox XLR/1/4 plugs. When I went to pull them out I couldn't. After tugging for a while I managed to get one out. There's still one cable in the firebox and I...

    2 firewire ports on Firebox!

Hey I was wondering why there are 2 firewire ports on my firebox. If I run two firewire cables to my laptop from the firebox, will it improve the transfer speed?

Decent laptop/desktop for home recording???? Help me out

I use the USB splitter for the devices that require less transfer speed like for a mouse and keyboard and save the others for more intensive hardware. Your best bet is to build your own on dell.com or ibuypower.com (more for gaming). Unfortunately it's not as easy as just picking one out on the...

Decent laptop/desktop for home recording???? Help me out

One thing to keep in mind is ports and jacks. That's something I wished I had thought of when I got my laptop for about the same price range your in. I currently am using every single jack on my laptop right now. If you want the portability of a laptop, go with it. Otherwise go with the desktop...

Ringing telephone noise... might be pick noise? Nice job, the only thing I can hear improve is the drums. Either way it's great!

I bought the equipments and the soft ware... now what??

Most likely you need to set the audio busses and imports in your sequencer properly. Go to audio and midi settings and make sure they are on the desired ports.

Take 2 of this metal/rock song!

Yea I can play in time, I get lazy with it at times though. I think the main cause for this is that I just make up a riff "at the moment" when recording and haven't quite practiced it enough so I think to much about the next note and loose timing. I'll go back through and record the whole thing...
