Memorial Day - "Taps" in rock form!

This is sorta a scratch track that I did in a hour or so. But if it's good enough, I'll just leave it. I feel that the ending is a little random (because it is, I was just improvising) but I think it sounds pretty cool: http://soundcloud.com/zachatk/taps

    Ideal basement for home studio?

One thing to keep in mind is power. It's a lot easier to run the right power and wiring before you put walls up. The ideal setup would include dedicated circuits and grounds, isolation transformers ect...

    Metal song!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I agree with the guitars being scooped. Too much treble which takes away the thickness and power of them.

    Lets see your guitars...

No you're not! I have a hell raiser and a bass by Shecter! Great guitars in my opinion!

    Lets see your guitars...

This isn't my guitar, I borrowed this for a little while. It's a washburn EC36. I guess only 800 were made in the world. 36 frets, too bad I was just starting to learn to play when I borrowed it. The finish on it so cool:

    HS80M Stands

I've looked for speaker stands for these things for a little and I've found reviews about some of the stands and they are bad. Does anyone know of a good solid stand? Does it need to be a special stand for the HS80's or are the stands pretty universal? I'm almost tempted to make them my self...

tricky recording setup (on an aircraft carrier)

What I would do is write a bunch of songs and record them directly while your on the carrier. Then when you get home you can make the final polished tracks (recording with your mic/amp). Since you'd be recording direct, it's a clean line going in so you could technically re-amp when your get...

Indie Rock/Pop - FFO Weakerthans/Pavement etc... mix advice!

The overall mix is very quiet. I think I had to turn it up about twice the volume as I usually do. Everything sounded good though. Vocals could come up a little I think.

    Another one of my songs!

Thanks. Yea this song was definitely challenging to keep in order... especially with my poor timing but I think I got the timing somewhat close!

    Another one of my songs!

SoundClick artist: Dirt Production's - page with MP3 music downloads Called "Soundtrack 10". I think it needs some vocals... I've listened to this so much trying to make adjustments, my ears just can't tell anymore so let me know what you think!

    Warts....

Hmm, I'm gonna have to time it right.... probably when I need to make more computer orientated music rather than instrument based.

    Warts....

I hate this. It's been driving me crazy for a long time. I have these little warts on my fingers right where I fret notes. They hurt after playing and interfere. Yes, they are warts, not calluses (a dermatologist confirmed it). I had one frozen off, but I think it's starting to come back. The...

    Need a few good opinions.

Condensers have large diaphragms and are the best for recording vocals. Dynamics are better for shows and micing guitar amps and cabs. Oh I should also say that a condenser is going to pick up more noise like breathing and room noise so if you're in a loud room, a dynamic mic would be better...
