Good advice here. First off, I feel your pain. There alot to learn. Alot if trial and error. Videos from the recording revolution have really helped, with so many techniques and so many different ways to achieve the same thing, it's good to step back and revisit the basics.
Here are some...
I know there are a lot of factors in trying to get a 'flat' room, and I know no room is truly flat but is there anything to the room correction software that's out there? Or is it all hype? My room is treated and my measurements are OK, I'm wondering if I should just focus on using...
I know using a reference track is a brilliant way to mix. It's extremely helpful. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get reference STEMS. doesn't even have to be the raw tracks, just maybe even processed groups like drum, bass guitar etc.... I know some dj's use them for remixing, I...
This 'aux' u speak of... OK, I kinda got the hang of grouping similar instruments and sounds and creating a bus, adding an effect, which effects the whole group. What is thus 'aux' u speak of?
Thanks for the replies, everyone. Yeah, I plan on giving it a shot. Setting it up looks a little intimidating tho. So I create a new track, name it buss and on a my similar tracks say, vocals, I click on the send on each one of them and choose 'buss' right?
So far I've been doing my effects track by track... Recently I've discovered busses (something I've should have discovered a long time ago I guess) , from what I understand, instead of putting say, a reverb on every vocal take, u just group all the vocals to a new buss track and use one...
It's like I'll watch a mixing tutorial on YouTube and be like 'yeah! I understand this, what a great technique' then I'll watch the next one and it'll be contradicting the previous one and I'm like 'crap, what the hell am I doing?' ... For example, one video was talking about using hi pass...
I mean I have those dense foam pad things underneath, in between the bottom of the speakers and the desk. What do u mean about the stack of cd's vibrating when u get sloppy?
I know I just posted a question on another subject (thanks for the helpful replies) and maybe I should be saving my tokens but here goes another...
I just moved and I've been setting up the studio, trying to get the room as flat as I can and I was playing a 'bass test' wav file thru my krk...

The plugin from Tokio Dawn claims to be like a pan pot for front to back, I'll check it out and let u know....
Thanks for the replies, everyone. What gave me the idea in the first place was a sample I heard, I was going thru some Synth sounds (I forgot where exactly it is now or else I'd upload it), anyway, there was this loop that literally swirled around my head... 360 degrees, in my stereo...
I dont even know if this is possible but a thought came to me.... I really like when I hear mixes that feel three dimensional, like to where it's not just a flat plane where the usual drums, bass and vocals are centered, guitars, keys panned left and right etc, but to where there's a more...
