Do you leave your gear set up all the time, or do you set up/tear down every session?

I try to work in a neat environment. It makes it so much more inviting.....The other half of "The Kave" has a 54" Big Screen TV, recliner, & couch... The cables are cause I just set back up from the church, but yeah I noticed that too, & need to get those together. Unaware of the light...

Do you leave your gear set up all the time, or do you set up/tear down every session?

I have been in situations where studio was in the bedroom or living room with a family of 5. So I get an idea of your plight Today I have a converted garage & everything stays up all the time, but I do power down. Instruments have to be broken down for once a week live situation and then...

Working On A New Song- Honest Thoughts?

If you were sitting in front of me with your guitar I would be looking for a subtle vocal relief of monotony. High notes with angst to mix it up & break the somber tone. I was singing the melody I would put in (at least the first note) & you went there on your little musical interlude is where...

How much one needs to spend on a microphone and interface for 'studio quality' sound

Since you are going for a pro sound, and renting a pro studio, not convinced your current approach takes full advantage of the studio...I would rent a better mic from them and their preamp....I would not use the set up you are talking about at all....Go all in....Burn the boats

    Ready to go - Mix

I really like the breakdown parts....cool stuff. I agree the Bass is passable for this genre. It is the overall bottom end that sums it up..... Consistent with the genre IMO..... Mix sounds pretty close to me....I

    All Land is One Land

Yeah a million tracks is about right. At least you have the foresight where to put everything. Sometimes deleting tracks works, other times they become part of the identity of the tune. The mix seems pretty even overall and I can hear everything clearly.... Nice tune....

    First Mix for Compilation CD....

My first new original for almost two decades, lol.

Hey Bubba, How cool is it to do music with your kids? My daughters sing sometimes with me and it is really a great bonding session. Yeah get some words to this and get to writing....I know it's a work in progress, but I look at these type of victories as stepping stones to greater creativity...

GREEN EYED LADY -Metal-ish version ??

90% of covers I hear just don't do it for me....They either didn't make it completely different, and a new take on a classic tune, or it is a poor facsimile. Actually was rocking on this one... I would minimum halve the intro, With live guitars not sure that is an option now....love it, just...

Do you want to know a secret cover with back up vocals

Tae....I like the unique approach...This bareboned an arrangement vocals have to be perfect....Or at least as perfect as you can get them. Kinda wanted the last half of the tune to have some different dynamics....Unplugged drums/percussion or maybe a Viola or Sax....Just a tad more ear candy...
