    selection of les pauls

I bought a Les Paul Faded Doublecut, earlier this year, so I've pretty much got my "Gibson fix" out of the way. I may buy a Les Paul Junior, at some point this year (early next year, maybe), but my Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 90 does good enough, for now, so I'm not in a big hurry to replace it with...

    If you like guitar...

That tends to be a trait of an outstanding guitarist, or any other instrumentalist, for that matter...that "less is more" style of playing. Matt

American - an Indiana company from Tell City, Indiana and China?

I've tried several models of Indiana guitars, and was surprised at their potential. I don't think I'd take a bone stock one on a gig, but their prices are low enough, one wouldn't break the bank in modifying it/upgrading it, to suit their tastes. And for being born, raised and still living in...

Played a PeeWee ValveKing at GC

I tried out a Peavey ValveKing 112 combo, several months ago at a local instrument store, then turned around and tried out a Peavey Classic 50/410 combo. With both combos, I played an Ibanez Artcore AG75 and Ibanez JTK2 Jet King through them, as I have those two guitars at home. From my...

    Soapbar or single coil?

A soap bar P90 won't fit, but there are P90 pickups made to fit into a humbucker routing, such as Gibson's P94. Lindy Fralin Pickups makes two split single models - P92 and Twangmaster Seymour Duncan makes a humbucker sized P90 called the Phat Cat. Hope this helps you out. Matt

Why the Fostex MR8-HD is better than the original MR8

I was going to order an MR-8 sometime this month (still saving a few more greenbacks), until I found this thread. Soon as I have the chance, I'll be ordering an MR-8HD instead. Matt

    Keep my Santa Cruz or...

I'm looking to record as a one-man-band, so for now I just want to be able to record one instrument at a time. My budget will be limited to whatever I'm able to save in about three months, or am able to purchase within the time of a 90-day lay-away. In the future, I will be looking to buy both a...

    What is your dream guitar?

I've nearly got my dream guitar, times 2 at that. Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 90 (single P90 at the bridge, 1 each volume & tone control), and Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway (bridge & neck P90s, 3-way switching, 2 volume & tone controls). Just need to eventually get the Bigsby B5 vibratos added...

    Keep my Santa Cruz or...

...replace it with a better sound card? A buddy at an IRC chat linked me to a Radio Shack page showing a 1/4" jack - 1/8" jack cable that should work, but I figure I'll ultimately end up happier with a better sound card. My question is, which sound card? My current setup = hp pavilion a422n...

Where do you find these anymore??

I once saw a used Danelectro baritone, at Guitar Center in Indianapolis several years ago, and I was so giddy about actually finding a baritone of any kind at any music store, I forgot about the B-E-A-D-F#-B tuning, and ended up fairly lost trying to try it out. Had I kept my senses about me, I...

    p-90's

What about Fralins? Does anybody have any experience with Lindy Fralin split-single pickups, such as his P-92 or Twangmaster? I'm toying with the idea of swapping split-singles in place of the 'buckers, on my Ibanez Artcore AG75TBS, or I might let myself have a G.A.S. "attack" and buy an...

    Fender jaguar baritone??

Okay, I did a bit of looking, and I do believe that in the case of the Fender Jaguar Special HH RW, the RW could mean rosewood, as in it has a rosewood fretboard. I guess I'm too used to seeing RW used to mean reverse wound pickup. Matt

    Fender jaguar baritone??

Yes, HH means humbucker/humbucker. RW is Reverse Wound, which is more often seen with single coil configurations, such as SS with a Tele, and SSS with a Strat. On a Tele, the neck p'up would be reverse wound (RW) which, when both p'ups are used together (middle switching position), creates a...

How Many Guitars do you own

Yup...Rick's electric sitar is a Rogue, and I think he basically had a G.A.S. attack, when he bought it, according to what he said when I saw them, for the first time, in Chicago last year. They're on MySpace, so here's a link to their profile, which has several of their songs to chose from...

How many Guitar Amps do you own?

I had to vote "4 - 8 (I want more...)," which includes my Line6 Guitar POD 2.0 and Crate PowerBlock. 10W Optimus (yes...Radio Shack, and I don't remember the model number) combo, Fender AmpCan and a Peavey TransTube 258 EFX makes up my guitar combo collection. For bass combos, I have a Squier...

How Many Guitars do you own

One of the guitar players for The Volcanos, from Detroit, MI, has one of those. Pretty interesting sound, for a surf guitar band, but it works well for some of their more exotic numbers. I have to say "one of the guitar players," in their case, as Rick and Chris swap lead and rhythm parts during...

    Fender jaguar baritone??

Also be on the lookout for a Fender Bass VI. I found my used MIJ Bass VI a couple of months ago, at Sam Ash in Indianapolis for the same price as the recent new Fender Jaguar Baritone offerings, and have crossed 'baritone guitar' off my to buy list. Some of the bands you're looking to emulate...

How Many Guitars do you own

I'm up to 16 now, with an Epiphone EB3 bass on the way. If the question ever came up - How Many Guitars Do You Need? - I could honestly answer "all of them!" Yeah, yeah...I can only play 'em one at a time, but that makes for some interesting jam sessions. Of course, at any time in the coming...

The official "I love P-90s" thread...

I fell in love with the sound of P90s, when I tried a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway at Guitar Center, in Indianapolis. I've since added an Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 90, and a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway to my collection, and both will be getting Bigsby B5 vibratos, as soon as I get a...
