Yes it is sticky shed at its worst and I cant believe you put all 4 of those reels on your machine. Quit it!

you need some compression going into the cd recorder. That way you wont be cramming the meters on it and getting the clipping. Even a cheap one would be better then the digital clipping your getting.

Dan I only have 7 reels of ud 35 7 inch I probly wont be buying any more though. I am quiting my job May 31 and am going to be selling pretty much everything I have. I have a prodject to finish here next month and that will be the end of me in the music world.

Dan! you need to check out some maxell ud 1/4 inch tape. Its the nuts on a 1/4 inch machine. I have been buying it for my 22 series machines and love it. Its not cheap unopened but its nice to know that its not going to go bad like some of the old Ampex does

Get the tascam M-30 The build quality is way better, Way better.

For me its no big deal. There hasnt been anything recorded in the last 40 years I give a crap about listening to. Yes Im old and stuck in the 60,s now. I dont listen to anything past 70 much.

All of my dx 4ds work with the tascam 22-4 and I dont use the access points in the middle of the back panel. I hook mine up just like you do on a 34 38 or 32. You just need to set your input and output controls on the machine to 7 and leave them there while working. I would stay away from a...

Yes you just take a pair of snips and cut that center piece off so the reel lays flat in the middle. Unless you are going to bake more then one reel at a time you only need to do one. I cut one of the centers out of one in the middle of the unit. The pic on Corys post looks just like mine
