    What keyboard do you use?

You can't go wrong with Logitech. Personnally I like one that can control my computer volume (when my audio interface is not plugged in). If you want to control your daw remotly when you record, wireless could be good too.

PLEASE HELP!!!!! with a new computer

Hi Mjsto466, Like they said the core 2 duo would be enough... but it would not be fun to use, really slow compare to what you could have today for fairly cheap. I use an i5 with 8 gigs of ram. When I record in Reaper it's using about half of that memory so 8 is enough, lower then that I...

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

Hi Dave, The volume of the guitar was going at around 3/4 of the meter, i think it was a bit higher than -18 dBFS. What was clipping is the metronome that I had to put all the way up when I was recording to hear it properly over the guitar (which is muted in the track i sent in...

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

Hi sparky, Yea today I followed that tip and moved the amp higher and not in the corner (I put it on the bass amp hahaha) and put some acoustic teatment too! (I put a blanket on top lol) The F6 mic was too quiet (probably needed to turn the volume on my babyface) so I ended up only...

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

Hi Dave, The amp is not my choice, it is what is provided with the room... I don't even use the distortion or effects on the amp, I plug in my pedals. It's easier and faster to get a sound closer to what I like that way. Many other people use the amp. With my pedals already set petty...

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

For the high dose it's not really a problem, I go to record only once a week for about 3-4 hour and the amp is not too loud, a 100 watts with volume put at 4 hehe How did you discover I was recording Heavy Metal? (it's actually black metal but close enough hehe) was it because you recognised...

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

Why do i need a Sound Pressure Level meter? Is it to make sure every time I record it's at the same level?

I want to record my guitar tracks. I'm new to this and need your opinion

Thank you Dave for your opinions! :) Yea I though about linking the two interfaces together when recording live, even bought the cord for it haha but I never had a chance to try it. The article from Sound on Sound is really interesting but more confusing for me hahaha. It just show me there is...

Best laptop for everyday use and music production

Hi, I'm not so experienced with recording but I know well computers. First I would recommend a Dell computer over Acer, they are usually more durable and have good support. Any of the two would be powerfull for web surfing, office etc. If you plan on playing 3d games that's another...

Hi All, I have to record my guitar tracks for an album. My first time doing it. We recorded a demo playing live before but this time we have to record individually (my drummer is not in the same country anymore). Here is what I have available: I have 2 audio interface: RME...

    Need more mics inputs

Hi garww, I should be fine, I found the mixer in RME a bit complicated and the card babyface limited with inputs. So a new interface with a new mixer would be refreshing and I can always hook the two together and use both to have 10 inputs instead of 8 :) Thanks all for your help. I...

    Need more mics inputs

Why is the Tascam US16x08 so popular? I know it's cheap but is it as good as the focusrite ? I've read that focusrite have better preamps than most other companies in the same range of price... I know I can't afford bigger RME but I don't want the cheapest interface with poor quality either...

    Need more mics inputs

Hi all, I have a RME babyface interface that I purchased when I was playing alone. Now I play with a band and find it really limited to have only two mic inputs to record a drum, bass, one guitar and a singer. I believe I would need at least 8 inputs (bass drum, 2 overheads, hi-hat...
