Some are expensive but as MJB said you get what you pay for the more expensive (usually) the better they are. Mine arent particular expensive, but they are worth getting.

I'm new here and still learning but I'm pretty sure a carpet even more so a thick one doesn't reflect that well, so surely facing them downward wouldn't help. They are recommended to be at your ear level so that your in that 'sweet' spot of listening to whatever it may be.

If you're using an electric kit which can output the signal as MIDI then you can connect the drums to your PC which you can then map into EZDrummer as MIDI Information.
