The recordings I've heard have included double-bass and yes, they have sounded very much like a double-bass does. Keep in mind that recording with omnis will make your recording sound like your room. If you have a nic-sounding room and want your recording to sound "like the performance does"...

Do you need sound insultaion in your coming studio? Will wind and rain disturb? Will you disturb your neighbors? I would suggest a stereo pair of omnidirectional mics for recording. I've heard several recordings of folk music using just a pair of omnis and if you're looking for a natural sound...

I thnk you need to read up more on the basics before you can understand the answers to your questions. Read the primers on this site's main page and use the search function for specific questions. We cannot repeat the same answers for every new person that arrives.

Maybe no one felt competent enough to answer the questions. I haven't seen the real studio building pros for a while. You need to wait more than three days before you give up on a thread.
