    4x12 cab question

The Recto was not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I was going to buy the Beari and dump some different speakers in it, but that would have ended up costing me just as much after all was said and done. I just wanted to bring another perspective to you to and perhaps help you make the best...

    4x12 cab question

I would suggest you do some more research into the construction of that Bearinger cab before you buy it. There are concerns about the materials used and moisture issues, not to mention how heavy it is. I would suggest researching it more before you buy something that you'll grow out of quickly...

Tube mic + tube pre - bad idea?

Nah, it's a valid question that has been asked and answered here over and over. Just search the forum and you'll see! ;) Basically, IMHO, I would stay away from the cheaper "toob enhanced" anythings (easily recognized as they *usually* have a "Toob Blend" adjustment of some type on them)...

Tube mic + tube pre - bad idea?

What if you use "Pro" tube gear, such as Behringer? :D -mr moon

Brick loses in showdown to Behringer. wtf?!

I would second this opinion! -mr moon

Brick loses in showdown to Behringer. wtf?!

Like most inexpenive audio recording gear, Behringer gear colors the sound in a way that is pleasant to the human ear, but make it tough to sit well in a mix. As it has already been pointed out, if you start piling these tracks on one another in a project (song), you'll begin to notice some...

    Connecting PreAmp to Compressor

Here's the contents of an email I sent to GT's tech support about the same issue. They agreed with it all, I made the patch cable, and have used it successfully. > Hello, > > I was wondering how I should connect my Brick preamp to my FMR RNC > compressor so that I don't damage either piece of...

    Are you a shredder??!!

No. I am not a shredder. Hell, I can hardly play at all, let alone shred. However, I have been told that I really "rip." Now, I don't know exactly what this means. Let's face it, like most guys who love Mexican food, I am gassey at times ...especially when I get nervous before a show ...so it...

    TC ELectronics - G Major???

I use the G-Major for live use, and it is GREAT! When I record, I don't have any effects in my effects loop or in front of the amp, except for those times that I use a wah in a solo, as part of the wah effect is how I control the footpedal and I have not been able to find any "auto-wah" plugins...

    TC ELectronics - G Major???

Ahhhhhhh, I see..... I just assumed you were talking about your own stuff rather than your wife's personal property. I'm sure your wife wouldn't mind. Seriously, if my wife ever caught me selling something of hers to purchase gear for myself, I would be in so much...

    TC ELectronics - G Major???

Before you sell something to buy something that you haven't tried out yet for yourself (in person, on your own rig), I would suggest you try it out personally, if possible. Really.... I would strongly suggest you not liquidate your gear to buy something you haven't tried yourself first!! :eek...

    TC ELectronics - G Major???

I've got one and I love it!! Search through the forum for my posts and you'll read all about it. I use mine for gigging without any of the problems and glitches some folks seem to have had with it. I would suggest you get the G-Minor (foot controller) along with the G-Major, as they work very...

Multi effects processor advice for tube amp

Yeah, the g-minor allows you to go up and down banks of presets that you have created (right switch) or factory presets (left side). However, it does have the upper switch which allows you to set tempos for the effects and go into "tune" mode where it mutes the signal so you can tune quietly...

Multi effects processor advice for tube amp

One last point I'd make is that I was looking for an effects unit that did not have amp modelling, because I loved my amp's sound. I was not looking to change my overall amp sound, just to add a volume pedal for soloing and delay for other solos and such. ;) It's amazing how many of those...

Multi effects processor advice for tube amp

Yeah, kinda expensive ...BUT, all the multi-effects units and such that I tried sucked the tone out of my amp, even when they were not in use (but still in either the effects loop or in the signal path into the amp's input), and those were even a couple of hundred bucks up to $500 for the...

Multi effects processor advice for tube amp

I was in the same boat a while back and after months of trying several pedals, multieffects units, etc., I finally ended up with a TC Electonic G-Major and G-Minor foot controller. It was the only unit that didn't muck up my "sound" when placed in the effects loop of my DSL100. I have three...
