That rules. Not only did you use a brand that everyone on this board hates (Behringer), but you did it while DIRECT recording (which everyone seems to diss) with great results. You are my hero.

I don't even goof with attempting to compress/expand on my computer. It only seems to change everything I attempted to tweak to begin with. Perhaps you'll have better results, but it really kills a lot of the dynamics. Anymore, I just amplify the track to as loud as it'll go without...

... I too like the guitars. Great clarity. I can't hear the bass guitar (on my work computer speakers). Vocals seem a little too dry. Drums kind of jump in and out and somehow need to be as big as the guitars.

damn, that's the one I thought I was going to get off ebay! when it came, it was an sr-16 layout that had the ion logo on it, and it didn't have inputs on it. they must have made a couple of different designs

.... For clean boosts, you should look into something like simple do-it-yourself boosters, like runoffgroove's fetzer valve or the boosters over at generalguitargadgets.com. I prefer the boss super overdrive over screamers. They are basically the same unit, with different diode clipping.

I'll probably try it down the road when I get another chunk of time to work on stuff. Good ideas. And cool "101" website.
