    Fading old Musicians and Zombies!

A fairly nifty combination, don't you think?! When not recording local bands, I sometimes get chance to chuck music together myself. Its not very serious, and I don't get the opportunity often, but I thought I share the first couple of tracks I've done with you guys to see what you think...

    Please be gentle...

Really nice song, and good vocals despite their scratch nature. Guitars sound fine, its just the drum backing track that messes it up in my opinion, I don't it compliments or enhances the rhythm or flow of the peice at all. Redo them or lose them I think. But a cool song. Jim

Hi Rami cheers for your comments, glad you liked the song too. The band are quite eccentric, and although there are some obvious influences in their sound, mostly Radiohead and the Mars Volta, that singer has a really quirky style that I think sets him apart a bit. With regards to the kick...

"I Won't Tell" First Mix from New Studio

Hi dude, Can't say I like the song much, but what a voice that dude has! The mix is heading in the right direction, but I thought the vocals were a bit too upfront, and the drums often overpower the acoustic a bit. Has trouble picking the bass out, so it sounds like a few low freq...

    Cellardweller does (sh)it again!!!

Your background image on myspace caused my browser to hang. Shame, it was a really good picture. Needless to say, I didn't get to hear your song though. :(

    First mix on this forum

Thanks Zabadabado, and what a fantastic name you you have! :D The drummers kit ranged from just about about playable to falling to bits. I mic'd his snare top and bottom, but the the top side recording revealed that his snare was making all kinds of additional noises and no amount of fiddling...

First mix in new studio layout

Good bit of thrasy metal. Intro reminds me of Slayer, vocals range from Metalica impersonation to hardcore shoutyness! I wasn't sure about the kick early on, theres noticable reverb on it, and I'm not a fan of that, but you've certainly got it sounding really great when it all kicks off...

    Simply Put

Hi dude, Think the idea struggles to fill 6 minutes to be honest, without vocals or considerable variations, it gets a little repetitive after about 2 minutes. Guitars are quite big, but lack a bit of clarity and would probably benefit a sweeter tone, although it could just be the sound you...

    Think I got it....

Hi dude, Liking the song. Drums sound nice and clear, although the snare sounds a little dry and seems to cut off short a little. Sounds like the attack has been shaved off it a tad, either by compression or EQ. Also, a little more energy in its release might improve the sustain, possibly a...

A song I did ft. my mother

Nice one mate, great cameo from your mum! Wish mine could sing like that! Not into contempory hip-hop much myself, sorry I guess I'm just a white-boy with no rhythm :o , but I quite like this. If anything, the low end of the mix, drums and bass, could be a little more 'boombastic' as seems...

Quirky Indie Band recording: new experience for me (comments appreciated!)

Hey dude, I quite like both songs, think the second is a bit more dynamic, got more going on. The snare drum often gets eaten up a bit in the mix, but I like the sound of the rest of the kit. I actually like the bass tone, I often struggle with recording bass, but I think its almost perfect...

    First mix on this forum

Ok, after overcoming the 'no url's until you've done 5 posts' rule, his is my first submission onto this forum for crits and feedback. These guys are a local band, they've recorded 4 tracks over this last weekend and this is the first mix I've done. Alas, my ears were pretty shot away after...

    Hi Everyone

ah well I guess I'll have to. I feel a bit awkward posting my own crits of other peoples music without having first my my own head on the chopping block and posted some mixes I've done, it feels a bit pretentious.

    Hi Everyone

Hello Can you fella's help me out here, I'm trying to post a new song for some feedback, but I keep being advised that I'm not allowed to post URL's on here until I've made 5 posts or more. I'm assuming this is geared so that everyone has to be a regular contributer rather than just posting...
