president in the car, dead hooker in the trunk

yeah i know the drums suck. they were kind of rushed so i didnt have time to listen to them and see certain problems (that really stupid fill during the guitar break, for instance... if you notice the drums go down right at that point, you're entirely correct. they come back up though.) i know...

president in the car, dead hooker in the trunk

yes its a wierd title. it actually makes sense in a strange way though. it certainly wont sound anything like what you might expect from that title. anyhow, this is the second thing i've put up here, so go easy. =P i know there are a couple mistakes, esp with the drums and the piano at the end...

    tricks for bad singers (me)

"I only want one track of me, no doubling/chorusing/panning/etc." why not? I was recording a band who were great musically, but when it came to singing there was much left to be desired. the two guitarists took shots at doing the vocals but every take was laughable... seriously. i took the best...

why not, instead of two beta 52s, have one beta52 and one akg d112, or better yet d12, just for the added variety.

the opus - walk in the sun

thank you everyone for the positive replies. lt.bob: the tune was written by the band, but i played some of the bass, since they dont have a bassist. the vocals are five tracks of the two guitarists singing into an mxl603 in my bathroom. nothing sounded good alone, but just to see what it...

the opus - walk in the sun

P.S. since i'm totally inept in this respect, i didn't apply any EQ. i expect there will be a fair amount of criticism concerning that... in fact i'm depending on it to improve the mix.

the opus - walk in the sun

hey guys. this is my friend's band recording in my basement on the gear i bought this summer. there are a couple blatant mistakes like rough transitions from part to part, the wierd change in terms of the guitar sound from the first part to the fast part, etc, but hey! it's my first...

    How to overproduce a record

please... the pros (some of whom hang around here and other message boards. have you read mixerman?) dont even like what the pros do; the record companies force it on them.
