This will sound silly, but did you actually try to go through and load the song after you turned it back on? What size SD card are you using?

I was going to suggest a cleaning, but you beat me to it. Glad it worked out man.

The single most important thing to remember is to leave the 38 in "REPRO" mode, and not "SYNC". SYNC will possibly result in a feedback loop and won't do nice things to the circuitry of the 388. I got lucky and saved my 388 once I made that horrid mistake.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I haven't used an 880, although I used to really want one. I think I had the 550 (I know it was 5-something) and it was okay. They still make the 880 after almost 20 years, so it can't be that bad.

If I remember correctly, I think Cory (Sweetbeats) has a SoundTracs board. I don't remember what model/configuration it was though.

The 424 mkII has some pretty good built-in preamps, just no phantom power. For about $20/input, you can get a few single phantom power units.
