Not sure if my 424 died on me or not?

Is it the factory power supply? If not, check the voltage and amperage to see if there is some sort of mismatch. It's ok to have more amps than required, but not having enough is a problem.

Problems with Tascam Drivers... I Think

See if you can remove the device in Device Manager and reboot, and try to reinstall the driver again. Have you checked Tascam's website for the latest driver??

    Pre-recorded tape playback

For the most part, the 22-4 should do fine. Barring that, the only difference between a consumer 4 track/2 channel vs the 22-4 would be the ability to utilize all 4 tracks at once on the 22-4. I think cassettes is where Tascam had the different track configuration. I think... Can anyone...

2 x Tascam TSR 8's synced with Tascam MTS 1000 Midiiser viable setup or not?

Let us know what Tascam says. I've got a MTS-1000 and would like to know the availability when the time eventually comes.

    What's your Tascam product?

Now that's cool! I wish my M-2516 could do that! Guess I'll have to scout around for a FW-1082 to do that.

    some recordings of mine

Need to double check the link. I had to add a ":" after the http when the link comes up in the browser. Kind of odd.

    Check out this NAGRA!!!

A very beautiful piece of machinery. However, I would REALLY hate to try to source parts for it. LOL

    Looking to buy Tascam MIDIizer

What exactly do you need to know about the MTS-1000? I've got one (for my TSR-8) and have the manual.

2 x Tascam TSR 8's synced with Tascam MTS 1000 Midiiser viable setup or not?

I've got one TSR-8 and a MTS-1000. Played with them a little with the PC and learned a couple of things. One of the most memorable was the MTS losing the sync and all of a sudden the transport on the TSR goes hauling balls in FFWD trying to find it! I wouldn't mind trying my hand with two...

Tascam DP-02CF ..no access to FAT partition??

Part of it's formatting process is going to be the FAT partition allocation. You should be able to connect to it via USB and see 3 folders on the partition. I've used Sandisk 4GB and 8GB cards and never had any issues with them.

    Drivers, help!

I would figure you would lay down the guitar tracks first, then go over the tracks with the effects plug-ins.

    What's the deal.

I've only used unbalanced connections and have never had a problem with it. Got some good sound too. I'm sure it could be better, but it was pleasing to me. What really got me settled into this place was the people. If someone REALLY loves their gear and are devoted to a specific brand, and...

    Inexpensive VU Meter Lamps, Bulbs

Cory, the only difference I noticed between the bulbs from Tascam and PE was that the Tascam bulbs were frosted and a little dimmer. Then again, it might be that I bought the wrong bulbs....

    Tascam DP-03 not recognizing microphone

You have to assign a track to the input, arm the track, and then record. If you can hear the audio through the mic in the headphones, then you are missing a step somewhere to get things assigned and armed.

    2488neo wav file importing

Two things that I can think of right off the bat: 1) I know this may sound stupid/silly/simple, but is the WAV file mono? 2) make sure the bit rate and depth (ie: 44.1/16) are correct That's all that comes to me at the moment...

I want more tracks, Part II

It's funny that nobody mentioned that the MTS-1000 is a bear to work with in the first place! I'm sure the Lynx would be much simpler and effective. :P

LA County Cash & Carry Tascam Fostex Bonanza: PALMDALE

Whoa, I think I hear Montebello gasping at the fact they FINALLY know where all of their stock went to! LOL Had to mess with you Dave! Seriously though, if you sold just half that stuff (just the stuff I've seen photos of!) you could buy another house! I guess everyone is getting to that...

    Tascam DP-004 Backup Time

Unfortunately, that's it in a nutshell. It is probably converting from one file format (whatever Tascam's "native" file format is) and compressing it a bit, the file, not the audio properties itself. Mine takes a while. It also depends on what size files you are backing up too. My DP-02CF...

Good price for a 388? ...and do I need one?

I currently have both (38 and 388). Do I need both of them? No. I'm parting with the 38 since the 388 does what I need in a nice, neat package. I'll miss the 38, but consolidation is beneficial at this point for me.
