    Ibanez guitars - ultimate suckage

Have never liked them. Have a Gio which was my first guitar and is the only one I've kept over the years. I at one point bought an artcore because I was obsessed with hollow bodies...bought one used, managed to resell it for a $50 profit and then bought a used gretch. Also had a 7 string I...

Modern Country Electric Gtr sounds......ie, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton

Short delays are a great way to fatten up the sound without having to stack guitars. Just experiment with those, and cut down on the distortion big time. It's really amazing how little you need a lot of the time.

Need some advice on using these as bass traps/broad bands

That's always a possibility^^^ I just want to find some use for these, some 2 in 1 seat/storage boxes would be cool. Any other ideas guys? I might just save a few and plop the others on craigslist and make a couple extra bucks.

Need some advice on using these as bass traps/broad bands

well there's wood on the back, and then a few open holes. And I did disinfect the hell out of them lol. I'll probably just rip one of the smaller ones open and try to wrap that one up before I try to tackle the larger ones.

    Laptop vs desktop

Have you looked into the Mac mini's? Portability of a laptop and the power of your standard desktop, and the new ones are very easy to mod, every thing can be easily reached and upgraded. They also come with the new thunderbolt connection, 4 usb drives, firewire, hdmi, ethernet, etc. And they...

Mic placement for studio 100watt guitar amp

Really depends on the sound your after, ever spot on the cone is going to be slightly different. Best thing you can do is sit at the desk with some headphones and have someone move the mic around the speaker/cab, moving it back and towards it, while the guitarist is playing and listen for...

Need some advice on using these as bass traps/broad bands

Well I went to dinner to tonight at my local Outback Steak House and they had recently renovated the building and got all new everything and had all the old everything sitting out in pods in the parking lot. Well I spotted these: The booth seats. Now, yes they are foam, but this isn't...

    finished new acoustic panel photos

Looking good man. I'd probably use a dark cloth to make them a little more professional so you can't see the wood, the sell them for around $25 a panel or since he needs so many say $400 for 20. That should make up for the cost of getting a little more expensive fabric. I make them 6 at a...

    Logic v protools

I use Protools, learned on cubase. Personally I've never done anything midi on logic, I use Reason for that, have only mixed with it. You'll also find a lot of people using protools making it very easy to just transfer the actual sessions to and from different studios.

    mixing desk to DAW?

That's up to you. If your workflow is that much better using an actual control surface by all means go for it, just realize that will be more money that could be going to a new microphone or preamp that will actually improve your recordings. Just my opinion, a control service is nice to have...
