I can't get a loud of enough recording level without hearing a shitload of "air" in the background. I'm basically recording in an open environment in my bedroom next to my computer, perhaps this is the issue?

I'd be recording Directly through a Line6 TonePort UX2 if I went the Acoustic-Electric route... But someone mentioned it sounds 20x better if you buy a good mic instead and record that way. If mic'ing is the better route, can anyone recommend a good mic for around $250 - $300 for acoustic...

hmm you raised a point I was wondering myself... I guess it all depends on how good the mic is you're using to record? I already have an acoustic guitar, and it sounds sufficient in and of itself with some good strings, so maybe I should drop the money on a good mic instead?

Is it manually plotting the notes with a midi editor? Is it by using a music keyboard? Are there other BETTER avenues? I'm interested in the best method. Thanks.
