From what I can find about that interface, it does not have phantom power. Most condenser mics (AT2020 included) require external phantom power that is usually supplied by the preamp. Since your interface does not supply that power, you cannot use that mic without an external phantom power box...

Which mics? Manufacturers have different methods for matching, but it often involves measuring the volume output and frequency response of the capsule and pairing up 2 mics with similar specs. Some manufacturers claim that their production tolerances are tight enough that matching is not...

What mics/pres are you using? Do either have a built in gain pad? If not, you may need to employ in-line pads.
