turntable -> RIAA preamp -> computer
Bump the level until it peaks and then bring it back 2 or 3db under that. That's all you should do. If you want to EQ or maximize do it AFTER the orignial capture.
I have a Behr. PX3000. It's handy, sounds transparent and was only $50 new. It might not last for 10 years but it will have given me $50 worth of life when it does get worn out.
I really just wonder how it sounds though. I wouldn't want to pay $250 to only have 2 outs that sound like crap because they were made for a size factor.
the absolute only reasons I would consider using it instead of 1.5 (that's right... I hate 2.0 too) are:
It does sound like a pretty serious upgrade to keep it in the running with other programs. I think I'll def. check it out and see how I like the way they implemented all this new fancy...
That's some funny ass marketing though. I would have thought they just would have sold LE in a box and just included this like the dongle for M-powered. Instead they are going to call that an "interface." I guess that way when you rip it out with the heaphones (which looks like it would happen...
I've been really pleased with how my ghost's pre sound. I've got a sytek and a brick which I do like better but the soundcraft can sure hold it's own for most things. I've been thinking of sending a few channels off to get modded. I hear very good things about how much it opens them up.
to be a little real for a minute... You aren't gonna sell a million copies. Get what money you can from the guy and be done with it. If it makes you feel better draft up a note that says you still hold all rights to the beat and that should be good.
I just did some Drums for a friend on Tuesday and my setup was a combo of my mics and the studio's 414's and beta 52 as follows...
OH: .................2 x AT 4051's
Kick..................Beta 52
Kick 2................AT 4050
Snare:

Bottom..............SM57

I'm currently in the market for both of these fine pieces of kit. If you are looking to get rid of an SM7/b or a Groove Tubes Brick PM me and hopefully we can work something out.
It doesn't really sound like it. If you are only going to output 2 channels a mixer is not needed. If you want to output on all 4 channels of your Delta 44 you will need something to mix them together and give you a 2 channel output for your monitors...
No it isn't... I don't know what else you did but protools sounds exactly the same as every other DAW. There is ZERO sonic difference.
If you like it better more power to you but don't go spreading unfounded myths...
